  1. I love my michelin x-ice tires, i have a set in 225/50/18 for my is350 and they are both great in the snow and great with no snow on the ground, it was downright scary driving the car on summer tires with snow on the ground, and I couldn't even get up a 10 degree incline to make it into my garage. With the x-ice I have no worries and the garage is easy to get into, even with ice and snow on the driveway.
  2. Doesn't matter, yes there is some voltage drop to the rear, but 12.4 means it's not being charged like it should. It should be 13.9 minimum, anywhere in the car. You obviously are putting way to much of a load on your alternator and it won't be lasting long. The dual batteries are not helping any. Just because it works, doesn't make it RIGHT!!! however, in this case it's just barely working. ← 13.9 anywhere in the car huh? you got your facts messed up man. 13.9 should be at main battery. Wire can drop your voltage by alot then there are accessories along the way and amps in the back. It'll never be 13.9 at the trunk. Your talking voltage here and not current. As long as your not having problems and your lights aren't blinking its fine. And it must be a good alt then cause almost 2 years now and its still running strong. :P Not trying to argue with you man what i have works and its fine and will last. Any way vtoney you say your voltage drops but its fine at your battery? Where are you checking the voltage when it drops? And whas your system playing while you were checking the voltage at the battery? I will still emphasis that you upgrade your ground wires and your alternator wires they help alot.
  3. I have a 1993 gs300.... i run a red top, a dry cell in the trunk and i run about 200+ amps on the amplifiers. My alt is fine my lights only blink while parked. My voltage never goes under 12.4 or so. Try upgrading your wiring. Run an extra 4awg from your alternator to the battery, upgrade your ground wires. Also could be your amp if i'm not mistake the jl 1000/1 is a class ab amp which is a monster on current draw. www.sounddomain.com/id/gompka ← UMMM! 12.4 VOLTS means the alternator is not charging. All your currents coming off the battery at 12.4 cause the alternator can't keep up ← If it wasn't charging then my batteries would die. BTW forgot to mention the 12.4 is at the rear batttey after doing through 20 feet of 1/0 awg cable.
  4. Yeah, if you rig it and then have them play through a 4" hole which is sure to block lots of sound and hit the cone. Or maybe you'd rather just have all that sound trapped in the door, I've done it, the right way, it's a major modification! ← 92 lex is right... All you need is an mdf mount for 6.5's Look on my site for yourself.... www.sounddomain.com/id/gompka It works fine and yes it can play out of a 4" hole because you don't need a 6.5" hole for all the sound to come out. Yell into a rolled up paper towel tube still just as loud on the other end. I am using very large and long 6.5's and they do not hit anything on either end. Just takes a little bit of creativity and experimenting.

  6. You mean strut tower bar (sway bar goes under the car) there are plenty of 2nd gen gs300 strut bars available and yes they do fit. To name off a few, trd makes a sweet one, cusco, etc etc.
  7. unless you are really mechanically gifted i don't think its something you could tackle on your own. The engine and tranny is gonna run 4-5 grand. The work of putting it in and wiring it up will take a long time and alot of money. Expect you car to be in a shop for a few months. And then there is tuning :D
  8. I have cold air intake and an aftermarket exhaust on my 93 which helped a little. Only real power gain you will see is a turbo and you have too many miles for it to pay off on your current engine. 2jz-gte swap is your only option for some real power they also offer super chargers, plp performance, but again on a high mileage engine i wouldn't recommend it.
  9. I just installed Rsr lowering springs 1.4" drop and trd 5way adjustable shocks into my 1993 gs300. It is a little stiff but that is what i was looking for. The trd's ran me $399 shipped but good luck finding a pair as they are discontinued.
  10. I am interested in buying this car and I wanted to know what would be a good price for it. Also are there any problems with this model year of the gs 300?
  11. There are alot of things that can determine what kind of speakers you want to buy. For example how much money you want to spend, what kind of speakers you want etc. For good sound quality you will want to go with a pair of component speakers. I am currently using image dynamics chameleons in my car (not a lexus) and i love them. Go to www.imagedynamicsusa.com and check them out, remeber that component speakers can sound alot better than stock but you will need an amplifier for them something around 100 watts x 2. Also you can go to www.elitecaraudio.com you will find all you need to know and get all of your questions answered there quickly.
