  1. Looking for the best lift option for me rn…curious why u don’t use the highlander struts for the front? Also did you lose or gain any articulation and travel with the highlander struts? I am looking at going all out and getting some Flatout suspension struts that are made for the highlander because I think?? They should fit?? Not sure just trying to do some research… here’s my setup rn
  2. I also built a sleeping/storage platform in the back that works great also has a slide out table for cooking.
  3. Late response...not sure if anyone is still active on here but here are some pictures of my car. This thing is a beast in the snow and the little mud driving ive done it ripps. I am running 245/65r17 wilkpeak at3w on 17x8 black rhino wheels with +10mm offset. The fitment is sick. I definitely need a lift. No rubbing but it is very close. I want a suspension lift of some kind not just spacers because the articulation on these things suck. The suspension system that these lexuss have really limits the potential for making these good offroad. 4. So I finally order some wheels and tires for my car and I will show you guys once I get them on. I'm considering getting a lift for it as well however I want to know if new swaybar links are necessary for a 1 1/2 in lift. They come with the northwood performance kit but this kit is expensive and I don't think the addition of the sway bar links are necessary or worth the money. If I decide to lift I will most likely go with something for well under half the price as the northwood. Just wondering if you guys think the sway bar links are necessary?
  5. Hey @eafreeland Please let us know how the wheels fit. I am very curious as the size seems a little bigger than I was going to try.
  6. Its definitely been mentioned in this forum before though
  7. Ehh not to sure about your gen but I know 2nd gen the max size is 245/65 17 (29.5" dia.) (Probably needs 0 offset wheels or wheel spacers tho)
  8. I would definitely say go wider. You want your rims protected as much as possible also helps with grip.
  9. Hey JM I see you fit 245 65 17s on your 2nd gen. You have 5.5in of backspacing and the wheels I'm looking at would have 4in of backspacing. Do you think it would give me much more clearance from the struts? I want to try to get 255 65s on it which are a 30.1 diameter opposed to the 29.5 of the 245 65. Just curious on what you think.
  10. Thanks Broc!! I really want to go up a tires size but I'm just so sure I can't fit it without upgrading the suspension. I'm going to get that 1.5in Northwood lift but that doesn't help with clearance at all. Gonna go with 245 65 on a 17(overall dia. 29.5). In an Ideal world I would fit 16in rims but that doesn't work on the awd 2nd rx's due to the size of the front brakes. If I can somehow manage to fit a bigger tire size I would want 255/65 17 (overall dia. 30.1). Even the 245s might be very close so we will see. I want to talk to a shop and get their opinion also. The wheels I'm gonna get are black rhino chamber wheels 17in -18mm offset. The negative offset will hopefully make it so I do not need wheel spacers at least I would need small ones if anything. they are 8.5 wide however if the sidewall thing is a problem I could go down to 8in wide rims however all the ones I've found are a +30 offset so I would definitely need wheel spacers not sure which route to go. Also I don't plan on doing any hardcore off-roading as it is still only an rx. It will still be off road so I'm honestly not sure what kind of obstacles i might face and if the extra sidewall clearance is gonna save me or not idk.
  11. So the methods 17in rims are 8.5 wide and 245/65 ko2 have a recommended rim width of 7-8"...I know that brickwall put his 245/65 ko2 on an 8.5 rim(outside of recommended). Does anyone know if this posses any problems or if it actually matters that much? I am looking to put 245/65 ko2 on some 17" black rhino chamber wheels which are also 8.5" wide. I just wanted to know if anyone had experience with these sizes and if going outside the recommended width by .5 would cause any problems.
  12. Does anybody know the exact diameter/distance from center the front break caliper sits at? Ideally I want to fit a 16 inch rim on my 07 rx but It would be very tight if it is even possible. Maybe with a wheel spacer and depending on the rim it could fit? If I can fit a 16 inch rim then I would go with some 255/65 16 tires. These are 10x29.1 so slightly smaller in diameter than everyone who has gone with 245/65 17 but also slightly wider.
  13. Awesome thank you!! Also tho, do you think a steel bumper is too heavy for the stock suspension?
  14. Also Brick if you see this I was wondering how you went about fabricating your bumper. I have a buddy who's really good at welding and said he would help me with it but I don't know where to start. How did you figure out the fitment, where did you mount, did you start from scratch or manipulate a bumper from another vehicle? Also about how much were the materials for it? If you started from scratch what metal did you use?
  15. I'm debating on putting a 12" subwoofer in the back my 07 rx 350 and I was wondering if any of you have any experience with replacing the audio in your cars. If I do it, I am going to make a custom box that fits in that little indent/ pocket area in the trunk. This is kind of what I am going off of: I've done the math because I also want to lift it and get some all terrains and with the set ups I want, the lift wheels and tires comes out to around $1800 before tax or shipping and the audio, including a new stereo unit, sub, amp, box, and installation comes to around $1500 before tax or shipping. Also tho I probably wouldn't have to get some the items shipped for both projects. Not to mention I am a broke college student in ME/AE and i'm not working while in school so it would have to wait till winter when I get a job for one of these projects. What are your guys thoughts on which project I should do first.
  16. I am looking to get wheels on my 07 rx, would that wheel size fit on mine stock? You said that u have new struts and control arm stuff.
