  1. you have 2 cats and if they were blocked you would notice a real lack of power
  2. just what i was thinking but was making sure that this wasnt a common occurence on the 98-00
  3. i just purchased the battery from autozone earlier this year and i did check my alternator output which was over 14v, ill recheck my connections
  4. this is the first time ive had this problem, when i have my headlights, front and rear defrost plus my seat warmers on my radio will just shut off and start clicking like its trying to come back on but theres not enough power. nothing else is affected but the radio so i dont know if i n eed a stronger batery or what. i checked the alternator and it checked out ok so what do you guys/gals think?
  5. last tune up was about 15 to 16 months ago. New wires and plugs at that time (EOM Parts). Caps and coils were O.K. It has been no more then 25,000 to 30,000 miles, so not yet due for a tune up... But that does not mean something desided to stop working. I it is a tune up thing, as car was just not running it would piont to caps/coils, but as the car has two, I would think it would just iether run ruff as could be, or not run at all, and right now it is back to running fine. So it is a come and go issue.... ← ok then just monitor the situation and let us know if it happens again
  6. i dont think it will be the fuel filter but at 130k you might want to change it anyway. a backfire usually means fuel is not being burned in the cylinder and when its pushed through the exhaust its bein g detonated. this could mean that you dont have any spark in the cylinder. when was the last time that you had the spark plugs and wires changed?it might be time for a tuneup
  7. hood shocks
  8. yeah if your running rich i would doubt the fuel filter at this point also.could very well be that the ecu is throwing out incorrect signals
  9. yeah theres no lexus emblem for the hood just the hood bonnet in that link that the jdm cars sport

  11. +1 i agree with sk since you paid for a service that was performed inadequetely
  12. sounds like you just need a tuneup. when your car acts like it wants to stall out either your not getting [proper spark fuel or air 9 times out of ten.b4i change the pump i wuld definitely change the fuel filter, especially at that mileage. the filter is probably a little clogged
  13. i just use therhino ramps from autozone
  14. im with sw on this one it took me a little while to become competent with the lex b/c im an aggressive driver and thats not always a good thing in a RWD car even now i have problems in the snow and thats why i dont generally drive in it

  17. very nice pictorial
  18. Why not? With 4 good snow tires, a little weight out back & common sense, what would be the problem? I'd drive a 745i as a winter beater lol........sacrifice a Bimmer for a Lex I would anyday. B) ;) Body wise, winter isn't that bad on a vehicle as long as it's washed frequently to keep the salt off. ← i didnt mean it wouldnt perform, i just dont trust other nyc drivers when the snow falls
  19. not until the 01
