  2. welcome to the club and congrads on the purchase
  3. they clean up any rust and debri in thesystem
  4. you can just yank it out, just make sure you put it back in the same way the old one was in there. You really need to flush all the old stuff out of there.Heres an easy way to do it, remove the inlet hose from the engine after that remove the outlet hose from the bottom of the radiator then pour water through the top of the engine until everything is clear coming out the other end
  5. did you put everything back and leave the old thermostat in there?if so i recomend that you go back in and change it so you dont have to worry about it down the road. the higher rpms arent a problem thats normal and give it a couple of days to see if the lurching stops. also put a can of b12 chemtool in the gas tank to clean up your fuel system
  6. well if you go to the dealer which i DONT recommend the rotors are $125 apiece and the pads will run you about $100 for the front set or you can find the rotors way cheaper online for half the price check ebay b/c they are always selling them just type in LEXUS ROTORS you can also check a couple of these sites toyotaandlexusparts.com trademotion.com olyonline.com
  7. it should be under the front passenger seat

  16. My impact wrench worked just fine to get my crank pulley off. Literally, it took 2 seconds, and there's no probably about my comments since I've tried it and it worked beautifully. Alsalih, you're not recommending the proper method either. The proper (as in what's stated in the Lexus repair manual) way is to use SST numbers: 09213-54015 and 09330-00021. like anyone really uses any SSTs, i broke mine with the breaker bar with no problems
  17. Salvage, Frack! I have an 02 donor I'm was using to swap the parts, but I'm screwed, all the connects are differnt, seats, doors, everything! I'll have to get an 05 donor.. the guy said it was a salvage title, so like SW said the insurance already wrote the car off and he has a check already but instead of just getting a new vehicle he probably thinks its cheaper to buy used parts and put the rest of the balance in his pocket. either way theres not enough info. to label this guy as the theif
  18. the coils cost about $90 and you should have 2 one of my coils were bad and it made my tach bounce up and down but like sapper said test for spark first and if by chance your not getting any test the plug wires fir resistance and if thats good then go to the coils. good luck
  19. ive seen the ls with a ski rack on it and it looked good , i even posted a question about where to get one but i got no hits
  20. i hope eveything works out

  22. army i doubt the TB has stretched with that low mileage and the 98ls doesnt have a plastic cover their aluminum. i know what this guy is talking about b/c i get that same noise and its most likely an exhaust leak or in my case the valves need adjusting. its noticeable upon start up but not so much after the car warms up, this doesnt affect power in any way
  23. what happenened to the original topic?
