Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 minutes and see what happens. This usually clears the VSC light but the ABS might be a different story. There might be some issues.

Post over here and see if anyone responds. Make sure to come back here and fill us in ok. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/canada-133/

That is indeed the correct part number for your model year. Try unhooking your negative battery cable for 10 minutes and then reconnecting. Drive the car a little and see if it stays off. If not the sensor might be defective. By the way what was the code that you got which said it was the sensor?

93 LS400 starts fine, engine stalls when put into gear
sha4000 replied to LexusInCMH's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
Is your check engine light on? If so, what were the codes that the dealer pulled? Can you give it gas while in park? -
There's a rod that clips into the back of the door handle that's probably not hooked up also. You see the metal hook on the right side of the door actuator? That hooks into a clip that's part of the door handle.

Yeah in the bottom of the back window.

PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THIS GROUND WIRE GOES
sha4000 replied to stricklybizn3ss's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
A clearer pic would probably help Bob figure out what is going on there. I'll have a look at my 98 and see if that same harness is present. -
Engine Light on and Trac light blinking
sha4000 replied to My Lex Owner's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
Yes use that link and get the codes then come back here and post them up. -
If you can't open the door then you can't get the panel off in one piece. I would suggest to start looking in junkyards for the panel in anticipation of destroying the one on the car. This what the door looks like with the panel removed. The picture is of my 98 so your might be slightly different.

Did you check the 3rd brake light in the back window?

I'm glad to be able to help. The car looks good so take care of her. If you have any more questions just post them up.

Never let the calipers hang by the brake line. You are just asking for trouble. Iv'e had them slip off the rotor or tie rod before with no problems but I don't want to make it a habit so I just use wire, zip ties or metal hangers to hold them up. The brake fluid should not be a charcoal color, it should be about the same color it was when you replaced it. Did you flush the fluid or just change the fluid in the reservoir?

A pic would give us a reference point.

The dealer will not rebuild a transmission they will just put a USED rebuilt one in if they had to do the repair. I doubt that they even want to be bothered with such an old vehicle. You could find a used one in the junk yard and have a shop that will use OEM parts change the rear main seal as well as flush the fluid before putting it back in your car. Or just rebuild yours it should not cost more than 2-3k depending on what shop you use. Most of that would be labor removing, opening and putting the tranny back in the car. You HAVE to be careful about who you get to perform this work and be sure to get at least a 12 month warranty if you can. These trannies usually don't break unless they have been run low on fluid and/or the fluid has never been changed. I understand the fixed income part so this might not even be an option.

If the caliper was previously stuck then that's most likely the problem plus greasing the pins for piece of mind would be good. The caliper probably froze due to not flushing the brake fluid every 2 years or so depending on your driving habits. This is something most ppl don't even think about. How does the fluid look in your reservoir?

Yes this is a regular occurrence so you can either fix it yourself or send it to the guys that repair LS 400 instrument clusters.

94 is non-interference so the engine will not be damaged by a broken belt. I would look for another engine on www.car-parts.com

Like has been said, check the coolant level first and if it's low fill it up.

If it only worked for 24 hours maybe you have a short somewhere.

2007 GS350 Cup holder?

What do you mean better? -
It might be shot from running direct power to it and having it running ALL the time the engine is on. I don'y know why you can't find the relay when a google search pulls it right up. http://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.com/products/gb/LEXUS/LS400/RELAY-ASSEMBLY--CIRCUIT-OPENING-FOR-EFI-RELAY-ASSEMBLY--COOLER-RELAY-ASSEMBLY--COOLER--No3-RELAY-ASSEMBLY--FUEL-PUMP-RELAY-ASSEMBLY--POWER-WINDOW-RELA/5795935/9098702009.html?partner=googlebase_adwords&kwd=&origin=pla
