  1. Check the fluid level. Like trevor said, does it smell burnt? i would do a flush of the fluid before I settle on the transmission being bad. How many mile on the car?
  2. That link just takes me to an AOL login page.
  3. Downstream sensors have no effect on gas mileage. They are strictly their as a tell tale for emission purposes.
  4. Welcome to the forum. At this point all of these cars idle low just due to their age. Is the check engine light on? ?How many miles and when was the last time the car was tuned up?
  5. Have you figured this out yet? If not, is there a check engine light on? Like billy said go to an autozone and they should be able check the condition of your battery and alternator for free.
  6. My Denso starter has also been going strong.
  7. I agree it sounds like the famous trunk hinge wiring harness.
  8. Your too vague, we need more clues. Is this the first time that this has happened?
  9. Is your check engine light on? If so go to autozone and they'll read the codes for free.
  10. I would take it back to the dealer since they worked on it last. Is the check engine light even on? Sounds like it might be related to the tune-up they performed.
  11. Is it all the doors or just certain doors?
  12. I'm with billy. Have the codes read at autozone and report back here.
  13. Check junkyards for radios that have not been removed from the car yet.The vents might still be intact.
  14. OK let us know how it goes.
  15. Welcome to the forum.
  16. My car idles at around 400 in drive. As these cars age most of them idles around 400-500 in drive. I would not worry about it. Once when my car was idling around 200 It shutdown several times in heavy traffic. First thing I did was clean the MAF which improved the idle immensely.
  17. OK, my mistake. I see you were talking about his spelling of brake.
  18. Re-read his post.
  19. Maybe 2-3 more times. Just keep checking the color of the fluid.
  20. This is what I found with a quick search. A member from another forum posted it.
  21. You can rebuilding your current ECU by changing the capacitors. Read this thread. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-1st-and-2nd-gen-1990-2000/656360-all-my-crazy-lexus-issues-solved-ecu-leaking-capacitor.html
  22. Maybe you want to know whether the used regular or synthetic oil? Either way I would just go to Walmart and get any of the quality synthetic oils in a 5 gallon jug x2 along with a filter and call it a day.
  23. I've used the transmission cooler lines on the radiator to flush the fluid on my car.
  24. at $200 I might have bought it back too. I'm sure you can find a donor car but then you have to pay to have the work done and the paint match. You can spend the whole insurance check plus maybe put a couple of dollars of your own into it and still have a reliable car. All this depends on the severity of the damage.
