I'm satisfied that it's noraml fot the IS. Thanks ← speaking of brake problems. after i purchased my 01 is 300 with 46K on it, after 2 or 3 months i noticed brake noise, as in the sound that comes from a worn out brake pads, i changed the front pads first and they were fine until i drove it and everytime i applied the brakes, there was this "clunk" noise coming from the front left brake. i thought that i had some air in the system but no it was fine. braking power/resistance is the same, except for that clunk noise along wiht that metal rubbing noise from the back of the car. i was sick and tired of changing my own brakes ,so i went to a brake shop and let them change my rear brakes, low behold they said that there was still that noise coming from the back, when driving, it quits when you apply the brakes. the shop machined my rotors and got me new pads of course, yet i still cant find out where the noise comes from. ← Never mind y'all i went to just brakes and described them the problem, they said that the rotors were worn and the calibers needed replacement or be rebuilt along wiht new rotors and flushing the whole system. estimating all at around 750 bucks. it's funny that "all the sudden everyone has a lexus with the same problem" and he recommended that job . but i said no and jsut told him to resurface the rotors and now there's no vibration and no noises anymore...

after buying an aftermarket unit, where did you get the "face" to fit the console, since the stock cd player with tape is not "aftermarket " size...

how'd you hook up the ipod shuffle to play in ur car ? ← man, at first i had problems wiht all of the cds in my player, only disc 2 was playing, the rest wouldnt play nor even eject. after reading CHAV's advice, i disconnected my battery for at least 20 mins or 30 mins and upon reconnecting it and starting the car, the cd player wont even work at all, just the FM, AM and Tape player works. arg.... i'm supposed to drive for 18 hrs from CO to TX and cant imagine not having my beloved cd player working....argg argg..argg.... any help?

thank you everybody!!! everyone was very helpful, but i had no patience and just called the 800 number and got me a live person on the line. who helped me set it up. took only about 3 minutes. lol, but it's so much more convenient!!!!!

hello everybody. i'm planning on changing the oil on my 01 IS 300 very soon. probably tomorrow before i leave for colorado ( 1200 mile trip ) <_< however, i dotn have a manual and dont know how many quarts i'll need. i know that i'll need 5-30 oil. filter wont be a problem when i go to the store.... anyone got a few minutes and reply me back with the amount of oil ? will sure appreciate ur time and input. thanks.

i had the same idea as you had. i replaced my DRL with some expensive high end 9005 Sylvania lightbulbs, but the results was the same as the stock bulbs, then i got me some blue generic hid look-alikes. and they're still not as hyper white as they should be unless running on full high beam power. at that time i was trying to replace my front signals to hyperwhite light bulbs, but there are 2 on each side and that would take alot of labor and time to replace them so i just let them be. also i wanted to switch my rear signals to Red LED bulbs for a clean flashing look when signaling but, after a while i just gave up spent too much money on 'lightbulbs" without getting the results that i wanted. you should check out ebay, ther'es a listing in it from someone in great britain, who sells the blue led mods for the dashboard, it looks pretty swell, but must take lots of time to install it.

thanks, yall. i'll just wait and see until i get a manual. i've been holding the button for almost 10 seconds now. i'll just try standing on my head and touching the windshield while pressing and holding the button, maybe that will help. lol jk.

what? the stock is 300 speakers are only 25 watt toyota speakers? i just bought me a 01 is 300 and looked underneath, i did see the "toyota" on the speakers, but wasnt thinking much about how much wattage they had. so far they sound 'ok'......but i must say that they kinda suck.lol. i'm planning on getting me new speakers anyways.

hi stevie, thanks for the quick reply. i already tried that, but everytime i tuned into a station that i want and tried to save it on one of the preset buttons it tunes back to the previous saved station. ← Steve has it right. Make sure you hold the button in until you hear a beep, or it will not take the new preset. ← ....this is strange, when i try to press the button and keep it pressed it still tunes back to the old settings. either this radio is messed up or too high tech for me. arg. ....
