Jibby, how much did this cost you? How you get the calpiers with Lexus printed on the side?

Why worry about it, you can pick up a SC400 now for under 10k, with the rest of that 60k that it would cost to buy a E55. You could be puting down 9 sec 1/4 miles. Oh the things you could do to a car with 60,000.

meh, I want a car that I can really go to town on with mods and the 300 seems better suited for it.

Im pretty sure it will do past 145 pretty easy. I had the parents car up to 130 and she had alot left in her.

Possibly the started isn't grounded if you had it checked or replaced? Sry not sure if the started on the SC's have there own ground....If not make sure the engine is grounded....Oh I just thought of another thing..... CHECK THE FUSE box. replace the starter fuse.....

Are you geting any kind of crank? Any click? Get a wireing diagram. Recheck the theft system. Shot in the dark and I have no idea how it is on the SC's but check the iginition. Maybe even replace it even being a lexus I bet the entire ignition isn't over 20 bucks. Or like you said you can take out a 2 morgage and take it to a lexus dealship...... Sorry I couldn't be of any more help me knowlage is realtivly limted especaily on these cars. Maybe try another Lexus fourm or something....?

Crank up the heat too, try and suck all the heat you can out of the engine bay when this happens.

Yeah, fix them ASAP if you have the money. Longer you let broken things be broken the worse they get.... Also any pics of the car.....we all love pics.

With a M/T? Looking into buying one.....can't afford the insurance on the RX-7 anymore. I'm looking for the 96's and up due to the increase in hp and a number of other things. Also anyone up for a trade?

Did you smell the white smoke? If it is sweet smelling it deffently cololant. Or its cold or you havn't started it for a while.

Doing 130 in the the SC 430 feels like your doing 60mph. Have taken the RX-7 up to 163, plenty left in her but I started to get a boost spike at about 14psi and I shut it down. Oh yeah my yoda pickup with the flatbed got up to 109....going downhill...

Hi If you can put your child into a child seat in the back it's no problem. If he/she is too old for a child seat I wouldn't recommend as it will be rather uncomfortable sitting in the back seat. However, there will be enough room if you slide the passenger seat up. Maybe you want to check with your local Lex dealer... Cheers What he said.

Well there is only one way to find out race him, and if he beats you give him a pat on the back. I know where your coming from though I hate geting beat by a Civic with a huge turbo, and nitrous when im runing a RX-7.

Wow im sorry, mostly because im young, but 1000 bucks is alot of money. Plus its an Alt. Gary replacing an Alt. is a very simple task. Also alows you to get in there and help you understand more about your car. Also when you do things yourself you can make sure they get done right and know exactly whats hapening to your car. On a side note though agreeing with geoffreymg working on a car can be very tiedous and anyoning.

Just curious what people have done to get some more power out? hahah well my dad said he would foot the bills and also some of my bills if I got some more power out of this car. I was thinking a big single Turbo...T/56.. the supporting mods that go along with that. Maybe a 50shot of Nitros Oxide. Few other small things. You guys done anything to your cars that you really liked?

What engine is in the 300? If you want hp buy the 2JZ TT(could proably find a junked out TT supra with a decent engine to swap in), engine can support alot of mods...although I don't know how well the rest of the car will take it.
