  1. I have bought from Lextasy...not too many problems, but their prices are not the best. My opinion is that the LEDs they sell are very subpar...and yes, I have used theirs...I had good experience with Option Auto...at least I did not have any issues. For regular parts I would always look to Carson Toyota and if your from So. CA, look up TM Engineering as well...both give good prices.
  2. They will only loan if the work is over an hour or two...otherwise they expect you to wait for the car. Since I drive a good distance to get there, I usually tell them to take their time and give me a car.
  3. As NEO stated the 98 GS did not come with DRL's...on the next model year forward they are the highbeams (9005) at 50% power. The wedge bulbs in the same housing (194) are 5W bulbs which you can replace with something up to 12W or so...Best bet is to switch to PIAA LEDs or Polarg M4 or M6. On other Lexus models (like the RX) do not put anything above 5W as it WILL melt the plastic. Trust me
  4. No problems at all...depending on what the car is going to be used for, I would probably go with the GS400, though the GS300's engine is rock solid. I have not had a single problem with either of my cars (the RX shares the same engine as the ES) that the dealer did not fix for free...zero problems with my GS. I have ALWAYS received a loaner when doing work at the dealer...usually a new RX or IS. The dealer is expensive, hence the free loaner :D
  5. Looks fantastic...though I would of tried my best to do the brakes over the lights!
  6. The PIAA LEDs come in Blue, Blue/White, and White. You can get them at Option Auto just do a search. They will fit your sidemarkers, front headlight (next to highbeam), and some rear lights. The blue are technically illegal in CA, but I have run with the blue/white LEDs and although they still look pretty blue, I have never had a problem. I now have the white LEDs and they work great. I would just stay away from the cheap brands of bulbs as they tend to burn out very, very fast. I bought some cheap LEDs...you know the 6-LED 194 bulb (like the one the sell at Lextasy) and they started to burn out one LED at a time...very cheap stuff considering that LEDs should last a very long time...longer then you own the car. Then again, you will always get what you paid for.
  7. I really doubt that there are $10K in mods on that car...LSportline stuff won't run that much...maybe $4K...and 18" wheels are but $2K for very good JDM...intake will NOT exceed $500...so where is the other $3,500 bucks at? You also need to realize that you will have to take a steep discount over your $10K price tag... I suggest parting it out since LSportline stuff is still in demand as individual parts...
  8. I am sure it will look fine...I would take a look at the gallery to see what style look good on the GS before choosing (or you may end up selling and buying again...)
  9. Usually you will not get good money for modification since most people do not care for them...they prefer stock. So you are limited...either part out all the L-Sportline stuff and return the car to stock form or try to sell to a very narrow group of people willing to purchase a modified car. You could also get considerably more money by parting out the car and returning it to stock. Check edmunds, kbb, nada...
  10. I agree that the GS can look too big for an 18" rim, but it really depends on where you are driving, what are the conditions of the roads, etc... If I could go back and do it again I would go with 19" rims.
  11. Sorry - Haven't been back here in a while... been over at CL B) As NEO stated...they are 18" Gewalt Reverse 3pc. rims all on Sumitomo HTRZII 245/40/18's. Offhand I don't remember the offset...probably like 44? or so...also it is a staggered setup...w/ 8 in the front and 9 in the back. Also, I don't believe they make these rims anymore...so you may want to look at some Work or Volk for comparable styles.
