  1. I ran our 2015 RX350 with non ethanol 91 premium for the first 5 tanks full. At the dealer while in for oil change service I mentioned it and asked if I could use regular 87. The tech said I likely would not notice any difference in performance or fuel economy. We were getting just under 18 MPGs with the premium. We drove from NY to Florida and back on the regular 87 and we still got just under 18 MPGs for the entire trip. I think if I was at the drag strip I might see some performance difference but not so much in normal driving conditions. I own a 2011 Toyota Tacoma with a V-6 engine and a 2016 Toyota 4 Runner Limited also with a V-6 engine and both run fine on 87 octane with the 10% e-fuel. Is there some major difference between these 3 Toyota V-6 engines? Gary
  2. Update! I tore into the problem last night and located the offender. Picture attached. Behind the glove box there is a cabin air filter and when I removed it I found it completely loaded with mice and a big nest. I still don't know how the mice get in but this is highly unacceptable. I buy my wife a nice luxury vehicle and she is completely freaked out and wants it gone. She fears driving the car and having a mouse running around on the floor which would wig her right out. Gary
  3. We live in the country and my wife's car is always in the garage each night through the winter. We do get mice in the garage but now we have mice in her car. On Sunday I found a new born baby mouse on the passenger side front floor mat still alive but too young to move. Again today there is another baby mouse in the same spot. So, we have a mouse nest somewhere in the car, probably in the dash by the glove compartment. I will be tearing into it tonight when she gets home from work. Please help me here if you can. Where should I look to find how the mice get inside the car from the outside? There has to be some pathway that allows entrance. Has anyone else ever experienced this issue? How do I rid the car of a mouse infestation? I am well aware that mice can cause very serious damage from their chewing on electrical wires so this needs to be addressed immediately. Her doors and hatch are never left open while in the garage so the mice have a passageway that I must find and close. I just have no idea where to start looking. Thanks Gary
  4. Thanks DK! Did the job last night when the wife got home from work. Just a little over an hour and all done. What bugs me most is the original pads and rotors don't look too worn at all but the pedal was pulsating pretty bad and getting worse. Just a quick comparison shows I still have over 50% of the pad material on both pads and on both sides. I have no way of measuring the rotors or checking them for true but it does seem rather wasteful with only 30K on the clock. Gary
  5. 2015 RX350 and I have the parts to replace the front rotors and pads. Is there a tutorial anywhere here or on the web I might be able to view? I have done plenty of these brake jobs but never one on a Toyota/Lexus vehicle and would like to see or read about any tips and tricks before I do the job. Thanks Gary
  6. Nice Dan but you are a little late for me. I found a set, take offs from a dealer when a customer wanted different wheels. I paid $600 for the wheels alone and another $280 for the TPMS sensors and then put new Blizzaks on them. I did end up spending a bit more than your very reasonable offer but getting them from Ohio to NY would have blown the total price off the charts for me. On Craig's list they should go quick because there is just one OEM wheel that is a perfect match for the 2015 RX350.
  7. I have a 2015 RX350 with navigation and premium audio with XM. The car has an XM antenna and I need to know where it terminates into the radio or amp. I have a nice stand alone XM head unit I drag between vehicles and home and a lifetime paid subscription and would prefer to use the existing XM Shark fin on the car if I can find the end and plug it up to my head unit. Thanks Gary
  8. I have a 2015 RX350 with navigation. In the center console I can plug in my Ipod to the USB port and it plays great. I am unable to plug in my Eclipse MP3 player to USB and all I get is the message No Files Found. This seems rather odd because in my 2016 4Runner limited the same MP3 player works great. Is it some setting I can't find or is it possible the Lexus just can't read this MP3 player? Thanks Gary
  9. Hi to all. New here and just bought a 2015 RX350. I live in snow and salt country and like to purchase a full set of winter wheels and tires so I can switch back and forth. Would love to know what other wheels fit this RX. I am thinking a lot of Toyota wheels should work but would prefer advice from those who can tell me what to look for. I don't care if they say Toyota/Lexus or what ever. Thanks for any help on this. Gamalot
