  1. Hey guys I just got back from the Lexus customer appreciation night which was held at our local arts and cultural center. Lexus brought all their new models for us to gawk at while live jazz music played in the background. The dinner buffet of shrimp coctail, salmon, roast beef and turkey along with sushi and desert was excellent but the best part of all, free booze! A large percentage of the 100 or so invitees were over age 50, hmmm. Anyway, when the time comes, I cant imagine getting anything else but another Lexus.
  2. I was actually looking for a good, quality comfortable vehicle. I checked out the Lincoln, Cadillac and Lexus. After test driving all three and listening to countless hours of sales raps, warranty pitches and standard features. I chose the 2005 ES 330. I paid $33,900 without the nav and Mark Levinson system. The car handles great I cant get over how quiet the car is and i just love the smell of the leather. Like the previous posts, test drive both cars and when all else fails pull out the ole gut feeling. BTW the ES330 requiires 91 octanne or higher per the owners manual
  3. $2.88 for 89 octane $3.02 for Lexus 92 octane. Here in Maui, Hawaii we have one of the highest fuel prices in the nation.
  4. I vote for the highlander. The wife has a 98 4runner and just loves the darn thing. Hard to beat Toyota reliability.

    Age?

48/male/State government With 7 years before retiring i wanted to get a car that was reliable and comfortable. At my age i'm not in a real hurry to get anywhere so i wanted to get something more comfortable. I looked at Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Lincoln and Avalon. All had good qualities and "irritations." Got the 05 ES330, in my opinion the styling and interior was the best of the lot.
  6. 65 Mustang 289 V8 hand me down from daddy to brother, then me. Good car but rusted out. sold 75 Olds cutlass supreme, 350 4 barrel, gas a lot cheaper back then lol, traded in for... 85 Toyota p/u, 22r engine, good truck, very reliable, got good power after installing 32/36 carb, traded in 88 Toyota 4 runner, 4WD for the wife, had to teach her to drive standard 92 Mitsubishi galant, awesome car, good mileage, decent power. Wife needed car to take her parents around. 94 F150 XLT 4WD 5.0 my daily driver, still cherry, only 80,000 miles 98 Toyota 4runner SR5 4WD wife traded in mitsubishi for this one, she loves this one like being above traffic and able to see. 05 ES330, best car ever, what can i say. Everytime I drive it I get totally overwhelmed with the luxury. From the feel of the wood steering real, the way the cupholder opens to the sound system, the smell of the leather, I could go on forever...

  8. Gulp... I must fit right in! I am 48 and have the 05 ES330. I decided on the ES because I really like how it looks and the interior is awesome. After driving SUV's and trucks for years, I cant believe how smooth and quiet this car is.
  9. Yes we had bought a new car in December. The parking lot was filled with RX330's and a few Es 330's. There were about 25 people there and Lexus had the GM, Service and Parts managers, service technicians and the salesmen.
  10. Hey all and thanks for the welcome. I remember the salesman telling us that Lexus also hosts a party at the Ocean Center and Aquarium here. A co-worker went to this party after getting her IS, they have dinner and door prizes to boot! I can't wait!
  11. Hello all! I'm a new lexus owner and my experience with Lexus just keeps getting better! I got me a '05 ES330 in December and was invited to "An evening with Lexus" tonight at the dealership. Lexus put up a nice light dinner followed by a slide presentation on service and maintenance of new cars. The attendees were then split into two groups for workshops on service, maintenance and exterior/interior care. The service and parts department staff were on hand to answer any questions from the owners and provided good tips on vehicle wellness. I have always kept to the maintenance/service schedules on all my other cars so I have some clue on car care, but learned a lot about my car tonight. The wife got into it too asking questions about leather care, washing and waxing. She even got a tire pressure gauge for filling out a questionnaire! Getting a Lexus has truly been the best decision I ever made!
  12. Maui, Hawaii 87 $2.67 89 $2.77 92 $2.87 what a rip,
  13. 2005 ES 330 purchased in December 04 at Lexus of Maui for $34K Blue Micah shale with ash interior Insurance $830 year full coverage I have to say, this is the best car I have ever owned. The car rides and handles very well. The interior is a thing of beauty I especially like the in steering wheel stereo controls. Wifey likes the dual climate control feature adjustable brake and gas pedal and memory seats. I get a solid 18 miles per gallon and have not had any problems with this car. I have not come close to the tk mile threshold for first service yet. I have a set of 18 X 8.5 kazera rims on order, plan to change the air filter and maybe a cat back exhaust to complete my mods for now.
