Hey guys, I've had problems with my sc400 since I bought the thing second hand a year ago. In the winter time it goes haywire on me and refuses to start on given occasions. I bought a new battery last winter with 800 cold cranking amps. This winter has been a little better but recently when the weather has gotten a little colder it has been giving me the same problem. When I come across this problem, it's usually at night and i'm able to start it the next morning when the sun is out. Recently I came across the problem again but I figured it's no big deal, i'll just check back in the morning. The next morning it still wouldn't start. The car was working but it just wouldn't turn over. I basically cranked it until the battery was drained and then tried to jump it through my dad's SUV. No luck. I decided to disconnect the battery cable and when I went to go disconnect it, I noticed that the negative battery cable was burning hot. Does anyone have any idea what the cause of that is? I took my one year old Duralast battery to Autozone and when they ran the check, it came up as a bad batt and I got a new one on the spot. I put it in and hoping that was the root of the problem, gave it a shot. It still didn't work and now i'm stumped. I have a sound system in my trunk if that helps any but I don't know if that is connected to the fact that my car's engine won't turn over.....any help or ideas are appreciated!!!

hey guys, In the second generation sc 400's, there is an extra "grill" right underneath the lexus emblem in the front. It's not really a grill, i'm guessing it's just something for the intake but the 1st gens don't have it. I'm looking to change my 93 400 to look like that but I have no idea what to ask for? Does anyone know what that is called or the correct keyword to type into google to serach it? Thanks!

hey guys, I was wondering if I could interchange maf sensors for my 93 sc. I want to buy a maf sensor from a 96 sc400 into my 93 400 but I just want to change the chip actually. Is this safe to do? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I live in NYC and during the past winter my car started giving me problems. First I had to change the battery b/c I have an alternate battery source in addition to my reg battery in the hood to power the subwoofers I have in the back. Since then, i've taken one sub out and tried to find the shutoff switch on my amp...anyone have any idea where that is? my big PROBLEM is with the car itself. During the winter time when it snowed sometimes it just wouldn't start and when it did start the check engine light automatically came on and the rpm needle would jump up and then come back down. When I attempted to drive it with the check engine light on, the car would basically shift back and forth while the needle was going up and down. It felt like I was applying the brakes every two feet. To make matters worse, sometimes I would warm it up and while driving in the cold the check engine light would come on followed by the low battery indicator and the car would just die out on me in the middle of the road. I'd have to throw it to park and then turn the ignition back on. This is very dangerous and i'd hate to be stuck out there if this happens for good. Can anyone troubleshoot this for me? I'd be much obliged.
