If so, then this could be a wheel balancing issue. If it is there constantly from the moment you pull away then it sounds like a driveshaft or engine running issue. Cheers, Trevor

I would take the car to a dealer for at least the first three years to ensure that all service adjustments, upgrades (including upgraded parts) and settings are carried out while being serviced. $500 is relatively cheap for a main dealer service and you have peace of mind that there are no issues with the warranty

I would agree with lexus114 with the statement of not running like it has the potential to. With a higher octane fuel you will achieve a smoother running engine and enhanced efficiency (especially if you run a quality brand of fuel) in which case the engine should return more miles per gallon so maybe this is the cost saving incentive and way to go?

It should be something that you can have dialled out as it is the case here in the UK that for insurance purposes the car must lock and immobilise after a certain period of inactivity. Your dealer or specialist repairer should be able to switch off this function with the correct diagnostic equipment

I would check the battery condition as it appears that any discharge is drawing down the battery supply. Check this with a heavy duty discharge test. Check also the earth leads along with the battery terminals for corrosion and security

Once you have disconnected the negative terminal, allow at least 30 minutes before carrying out any work on the SRS system as there is a capacitive charge which will need time to decay allowing the system to become safe to work on

over inflated tyres? could try larger profile tyres to increase shock absorbing

I would imagine that any roughness at idle is emanating from the engine or a component of which is causing a dynamic imbalance. One such area to investigate is the harmonic balancer crankshaft pulley as if this is defective it can cause a great deal of vibration through the vehicle. Also, not sure if it has an over-running alternator pulley which can also cause issues which allow the drivebelt to deflect and cause vibration. Timing belt one tooth out....?

glad to hear that you have sorted the issue. Would also be worth checking earth leads to see that they are in good condition as this could affect charging rate, etc

I would suggest it is moved on a flatbed or similar to avoid winding up the transmission from towing it with all four wheels turning. Hopefully a battery boost will sort it out and it can be driven instead

Great road trip Steve ! Anyone else doing a road trip this summer?

Off to Greece (Kefalonia) at the end of the month, quite a cheap destination at the moment because of earthquakes, immigrants and poor economy so nice to spend some money with them to support the tourist industry and drink some nice beer along the way.

So who's off somewhere nice for their summer holidays / vacation? Got any road trips planned?

That sounds very suspicious as glass is very tough and shouldn't be damaged just by adjusting a mirror. However, you may glass cover on your insurance policy? worth checking and if so it could be replaced under the insurance for the cost of the excess
