  2. Buy the parts yourself and bring it to a toyota dealer. I use carlson toyota 763-427-3200 which is in !Removed! rapids. Probably too far from where you are located, call around.

  4. and allow me to express this: thats fine, its your car and we wont judge you for it. i simply dont see the point in making these cars something they arent. mine is staying all stock with the excpetion of maybe some audio upgrades evetually. i may do wheels and i may not, btu they wont be alloy racing wheels. you have to realize something, these cars are so rare its rediculous. 9,950 made in year one and 15,000 in year 2. (1990 and 91 respectively). if they are ever gonna be worth anything, mods arent going to help unless its something that can be changed easily, IE window tint. ← Personally I think the stock wheels should just be refinished [ that is if they even need it } B)
  5. WHY? have you actually tried to race your car? news flash...it aint fast... im not into all that rice rocket crap. alloy racing wheels? what for? this car is slow, it will always be slow. its a cruiser (thats what it was designed to do, and it does VERY well.) when you have driven cars down the quarter mile in less than 10 seconds, then you realize 2 things. 1. thats WAYYY to fast for anyone to go in a stock production car that wasnt designed for such a purpose. 2. thats WAYYYY to fast to drive a car in the city. i didnt install the tint for looks, i installed it because it will be sitting for 6 months in the SUMMER TEXAS SUN. the temps in the inside could reach up to 200 degrees without it! that and its a saftey feature. if im ever hit, the glass wont chatter into a bajillion pieces, the window tint will keep it all together. the other reason i had it put on is for privacy. ← Well said !!!
  6. Looks great !!! Keep up the good work +++

  8. The best thing to do at this point is send it to www.lextech.org {LLS} and get it done right the first time for a fair price. I have had my 93 es cluster done there and AAA+++++++++++++ I beleive it was $120.00 for all the backlights and the needles . I am a satisfied customer and stand by their work... ← More power to you Hoss. if I would have run into LEXTECH before I ran into DASHUSA, maybe I would agree with you I don't know...it's a case by case issue, I would say...or maybe I should have asked you first..that's where it's at!!! But, since I don't even know you..how could I know..glad you got a fair price..shows there is honesty still in this world...LOL!!! I'm a satisfied customer too...and stand behind their work also...my cluster is working just fine thank you...even has a gold trimmed outline..real pretty now..!!! ← I have searched this board and have not found anyone with the name HOSS are you sure you are on the right forum ? ← NO Offense..DC..where's your explanation...if I'm so wrong and what part am I wrong..I think I desevve an explanation... Thanks... ← Just one more thing DC..you wouldn't happen to have an interest in Lextech would you..? ← No affiliation whatsoever with lextech, And my forum name is not hoss. ;)
  9. Is it just the sound that cuts out or is it the power to the headunit ? ← I would say power as he stated"Head unit working fine one minute and completely dead the next. Checked both fuses and both are okay" B) ← mm03gs3, Is it just the sound that cuts out or is it the power to the headunit ?

  11. True, Moderator please move.
  12. Just take the smoked plastic faceplate off and firmly pull the needle straight out [ FIRM AND STEADY PRESSURE IS NEEDED TO PULL THE NEEDLES OFF] and they just push back on no clips, Just make sure that you put the needles back on in the position in which they were taken off. You can take the plastic cover off without pulling the cluster out just take the dash frame off and you will see the screws that hold the cover. I put the needles back on with the car running with the gas tank full , the car warmed up and at idle. The needle settings were previously made note of. And everything operates exactly as the original cluster. The reason this was done is that the new needles had a different weight than the originals so the balance was off I had to add weight to the gas and tach needles so they would balance the same as the originals.
  13. Hopefully just Denso these days otherwise the plugs you are using are nearly 10 years old as the company changed it's name in 1996 :P ← I stand corrected , Thank You , DENSO it is !!!!

  15. If I'm not mistaken all the backlight bulbs can be replaced with the 74's make sure that you pry the bulb contacts away from the base just a little so you ensure a tight fit and a good connection. The gas and the temp guage can also be removed from the faceplate [ slide them out from the side ] if you need to . If you feel that you have to send it out I highly recomend www.lextech.org [LLS ON THIS BOARD] Also you can easily pull the bad needles off and replace them with the good ones.
