  1. The car has a built-in cd changer in the dash. I never did like how lexus put them in the glove compartment in the 2nd gen GS. Thanks to everyone for the compliments. ← Did you smoke the tails or did you have it done? How ? Where? Thanx. B)
  2. I guess you should start by finding out what the antisiphon device looks like in the filler tube first to see if it can be bypassed. Now for the story.. My neighbor across the street puts his lawnmower in the back of his pickup to get it filled with gas. Go figure !!! :D

  4. The mode button I beleive is the recirc/outside switch. That was done by someone else, Not me although I will be doing the procedure soon. Good Luck
  5. Sweet ride, I especially like the smoked taillights, Wheels aren't my style but they look good. If you debadge the tail then you should get [ ARISTO / TOYOTA emblems ] and nobody will know what car that is. Keep up the great work ! ;) I would lose the LV unless it was the wifes car.
  6. This was in another forum-The noise is coming from the servo motor that moves the door for the "mode" button. This servo moves diverters to change from vent to floor, etc. - I popped the bottom panel off under the glove box. - I then removed the glove box assembly. 2 screws up high, 2 bolts down low. - With the key on engine off you can press the mode button and watch the servo move. Turn the key completely off. - Remove 3 screws and plug to take the assembly out. - Do not attempt to rotate the arm on the end of the servo. It engages w/ a worm gear. Turn it and you will break gears. - The servo is a snap together unit. Carefully take it apart w/ the arm side down.(so gears don't fall out) - inside you will see multiple whiper fingers that make contact w/ a gear. Carefully clean these w/ alcohol and a cotton swab. - Redistribute the contact grease on the whiper pad w/ a clean finger (any oil or lotions on skin will mix w/ the grease and make the copper contacts corrode. - Carefully snap unit back together. - Clean contacts on the outer part of servo also w/ alcohal. The other option is to have Lexus diagnose this for you and hit you for $160 for the part plus ~ an hour or 2 labor. So far the noise is gone and the HVAC system works properly. I will post any updates if the problem comes back. I think the problem was caused by crusty contacts in the servo that were creating a poor signal back to the computer that controls it. Now that it has a clean signal, all is well..... I hope!!!
  7. While you have your intake apart it would be a good time to clean the maf and throttle body. It wouldn't hurt to give the engine bay a cleaning also. ;) ← How do you go about cleaning the maf and throttle body? This is the wife's car and you're right the engine could use a cleaning, but my 92 SC400 engine could serve breakfast :P ← For the maf use rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab [ BE CAREFUL DO NOT DAMAGE SENSOR ] Use a good carb cleaner for thr throttle body.   9. The cone intake will just suck in the hot air from your engine bay , While the stock setup is cold air and sucks in cold air from the outside. The metal tube is a larger diameter than the stock tube and less restricting. ;) Oh yeah, It looks clean too.... ← Although the guys English may not be convincing, he says it will fit "Yes,fits your car...no fit i full refund ...thanks.."   18. ← That is said because you have to have a custom Y connector made. The original wiring is integrated into the body harness. They fit. ;)
