    I Just ran across this thread...Ancient for sure...The answer is that one CAN install an OEM navigation system in a non-nav car. I have been doing just that for 15 years and counting :)

    First off... Welcome to the LOC :) Yes, One can install a nav into a non nav car, If you decide to go OEM let me know as I have all the parts needed for the install. TIA

    Seems to me if there is an aftermarket alarm then that would be the culprit...Do you really need an aftermarket alarm ?

    Never heard of just AM not working...Maybe a faulty tuner ...Does the display show the AM stations ?
