I would install a new tb and all the crossover parts involved. Plugs, Clean the fuel system etc...Change all fluids, Brakes, Radiator etc...Lot to be done but worth it on a 13000 mile SC400

I burn only the highest octane that is available, Usually 91 here. I never use anything else, Nor would I...Not even in my lawn mower 😉

That could very well be the case, Maybe remove the manifold and Clean it ?

Theoretically you can, But I think it won't long hold up very long. I would put my energy towards a fix rather than a band aid.

Spray some WD-40 in the key slot, Try this several times while using the key. Basically flush the lock mechanism and keep trying to move the works.

Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic every 5k regardless of driving conditions, I always used to drop the couple quarts of tranny fluid at the same time I do oil, Keeps the tranny fresh and reliable and very cost friendly...

I like to check when hot and one has gone through all the gears and back in park, Engine off and wait a couple minutes to settle :)
