yes there isa a double din factory faceplate that eliminartes the buttons. i have one used for 75.00. it says mark levinson on it and was used for facrory es330 navigation unit. i have the factory es330 navigation unit and the rear view camera in new condition for 1500.00 if your interested it would include the faceplate .

How can I take out the screen to check if there is any connections for the NTSC input? ← yes that is the touch screen and there are navigation buttons under the screen. it would be easy to add factory navigation or a factory dvd movie player since your all set up with a real nav screen not a multi display info screen like most rx300. yo0u dont have to remove your screen to prove it you couldnt be saying lexus on the screen on power up if it wasnt a nav screen. i wonder if your navigatioin computer has just been removed and all you have to do is plug in a usa computer with a dvd map. i have an rx300 navigation computer with the latest 269.00 dvd map update in it for 750.00 or the lexus dvd movie player for 750.00 also. the map dvd player installs back behind right side panel in cargo area under the jack. the lexus dvd movie player installs in the center console or in the rear cargo area if you dont want to lose console space.

I work as a consultant for Lexus, for ALL bluetooth/technology/nav issues. and i can tell you that i took over what Handsfeesolutions used to do for Lexus Santa Monica. Anyway... 1) Look into the Raytel 4000 and find an installer for it, works VERY well. its very very nice and ive used it first hand. best part...$600 installed at some places..look around.. 2) No you cant rig the 06 nav to work in your car. if u really want nav, build a car computer and mount the screen where the stock screen went, www.mp3car.com or install the pioneer aftermarket navi there, some dealers will do it for less than/around $2000.. HTH Abe ← the most stock look would be the es330 navigation unit mounted in place of the 6 disc radio. the price would be 1700.00 and would include the rear view camera moiunted at licence plate lite level and a ntsc dvd movie port. would only need hookups to reverse sensor for camera and the speed sensor. the factrory nav would be a difficult install but possible. i have one of those also but have never tried installing one. the es330 nav CAN BE INSTALLED IN ANY LEXUS.

NO THE OEM AMP HAS AN AVC-LAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND WONT PLAY ANY AUDIO UNLESS THE UNIT TALKS AND RESONDS TO THE SIGNALS.

yes there are 3 fuses on the pcb board at the radio connctor. they are marked 6.3v so not hard to find. new 6 volt fuses can be soldered in.

if your radio has p1609 on the cassette flap door and is a 93 ls400 i have a mint condition sub for you.

i left a voice message on your cell. i have a working mint condition gs400 nakamichi glovebos cd changer.it includes the nakamichi digital equalizer.

i have a brand new one in the box for 150.00.

you cant use the factory amp so the harness has to reach under the seat to connect to to output speaker wires. and no you cant use the factory changer with the 199.00 sony cd player. better to fix the $4,000.00 factory system with the 199.,00 then go aftermarket.

Thanks, but I was able to get a copy myself. The CD doesn't tell me much about the computer voice and it doesn't give me any sound samples. All you can hear is "please follow the highlighted route....", which imo is prerecorded and doesn't do much for me :( I appreciate your help :D ← it is japanese technology and lexus is very secretive of that kind of information. denso corporation is the company that made all the voice nav stuff and they wont even give out a schematic to their units. so sorry to say you are not going to get any information even if you had the denso head techs personal phone number. the usa denso location is in long beach calfornia and the the denso tech laughed at me the last time i called to try to get some information. .i get the feeling that they dont think we are intelligent enough here in the usa to understand their technology even if they gave us the information.

by 2005 they have several systems that have to be worked on to be able to program while driving. this was not lexus idea to prevent programming while driving .it is the lexus legal dept advice to engineering to prevent this from being done. in usa its big corporations fault if an accident happens while prograsmming not the drivers fault. even if you can get the vss turned off in 20 seconds it will turn back on by itself. so at this point there is no good way to do this on a 2005. even the new 2005 pioneer aftermarket avic -n2 has a screen turnoff in the gyro so if the cars moving the screen shuts off from any functions so even pioneer cant be programmed while driving. in japan there are no such legal impediments and they have both tv tuners , dvd movies and also can change destination while driving. i havent heard that they all have died in traffic accideants.

ive got a new condition 98 es300 pioneer system sub. this ones 2 ohm instad of 4 but would put out even better base from the nak amp and it will plug in and bolt right in. . 50.00 plus actual shippinmg.

yes you have the latest 4th genration disc. . the data is always 1 year behind the model year. so in october 2005 the 2006 models will come out with data 5.1 . for older model computers prioir to 2004 there is a whole different set of dvds.they are called 3rd generation computers. there is an update dvds every year that works on them. the update dvd has a warning at the bottom that you cant go back to previous dvd , if there is no warning it isnt an update dvd for an older computer. the latest update dvd for older computers is 4.1. for some reason they didnt come out with update 4.2 for older computers. so i am waiting untill update dvd 5.1 comes out in december 05

whoa before you buy the ebay changer here are some guidelines. the avearge time a gs changer lasts is 7 to 10 years. so you would want to know when the changer is built. the date is on the serial number sticker and the seller should give you that info if asked.i would recommend buying one from as new a gs as possible. also only a gs changer from the lexus premium sound non nakamichi will work the part number is 86270-30150 pioneere model cdx-m8076zt with 10 pin connecctor will work. the pioneer gs changer made for nakamichi system will not work as it puts out digital signal not analog like your pioneer radio with p1708 on the cassette flap door on the fsceplate. so make sure the changer you are buying is the right pioneer made gs changer with a 10 pin connector not a 12 pin. ......................................................................... the nakamichi changer has a 12 pin connector. for 250.00 you should get a warranty as that is upper end for a used gs changer. gs changers are very plentiful as they fit no other lexus models and gs ownerrs go aftermarket way more than any other lexus models so there are more available. i have one in mint condition from a 2002 gs the last year they will fit in your 98 brackets. since you are a club member i would sell it for half of what the ebay person is selling it for . email me at pioneersuby@woh.rr.com.

its almost always the 13 year old paper cone speakers. the amps either in or out. not out on certain channels

no can wire amp to to headunit. only pich up speaker signal to amp and sub. not dirct from headunit. no can hook up aftermarket cd changer . only fm mnodulated. which goes though antenna to fm station. very inferior sound. poor fm quality not cd quality from an fm changer

I picked the correct DVD @ Bobby Rayhal Lexus in PA for $250.00. Best price I've seen..and it's a legit Lexus dealership. The funny part is that a '03 DVD went for $225 on Ebay and this was the latest greatest. ← the reason the 03 dvd is going for as much as the 4.1 update is that the 4.1 data is corrupted and all the discs are being replaced by 4.2 data disc in recall canpaign 4LG . so at this poiint it would be better to wait for a 4.2 data update dvd for the generation 3 lexus models which are made from 2001 to 2003. i personally wouldnt buy any disc that says 4.1 data on it .

yes its aleady been done on the 2006 gs. the owner even installed an extra on off switch on the factory dash switch panel so it looks like a factory switch. .

The changer, sub and amp? Thank you! ← No, the factory parts won't work. You can try to reuse the amp and speakers. I am not sure how optimal this will sound. The changer won't work. The two systems I posted were gutted and all the components were replaced from the HU/brain to the speakers to amps. ← yes the gs cd changer will work on pioneer aftermarket headunit and will even give full cd text. reading on the headunit screen. i have already converted 5 gs factory cd changers with perfect compatibility with pioneer aftermarket. headunit avic-n1 and avh p7500 and p6600. it will save your dvd headunit and i am sure will sound better than any aftermarket cd changer. it cost 1100.00 new and was made in japan which is more than i can say for most 2005 aftewrmarket stereos. so i wouldnt trash it. also if you really want oem look you can install a 2001 up gs factory navigation and play dvds on the factory ha=ed unit. it has an ntsc port right on the back odf the screen . what do you think the value in the future of a gs with fatory nav will comnpare with an aftermarket nav.. do you see any aftermartket stereos in collector car shows where the showwinners put everything back to original.
