Our GXs 470 are the big brother to the Landcruiser same mechanics just more creature features.... I wanted a Landcruiser but ended up with a GX 470, no regrets only I find myself prissing on the Lexus more then I would have on the Toyota....People who drive Lexus have an image to maintain, more so then Toyota. By no means downing the Landcruiser, just Lexus deserve that little extra care,,,I hate it sometimes, but on the other hand a clean Lexus is a must. You don't drive a dirty Lexus..... Enjoy your new ride, it will take you far.. Happy Wheeling.. Miche;in AT 2 are the best no road noise excellent on off road capabilities, they last,,,,My ride 140,000 and going strong, and by the way go get a K&N air filter right now, you will gain some bester mpg, 50 bucks or so but the best thing you can d0 for your GX, Go do it right now easy to do ..I could keep going on and on different inexpensive things to improve and maintain the longevity of your truck.....

Hey fellow GX 470 lovers, I put a ICON Stage 2 suspension lift ,to re[place my stock suspension, very nice ride not to firm, I do miss the stock ride adjustment. Frontcoil overs and conversion of the rear to coil springs, roughly 1 1/2 inch of lift all the way around. Front upper control arms changed. So far no problems and has exceptional 4 x 4 abilities. Next thing maybe change the running boards? I really like the stock ones , but can get in the way some times when 4 x 4 wheeling. I can go up a whole size from stock on tires but have kept it stock. Maybe next set will be 265-70-17s. Running Michelin AT right now.Can't do the stirsteps in Moab, But can get to Chicken corners,Elephant Hill no problem.. 140,000 miles and still good as new.... I painted the front control arms red, they look way cool, they peek out from under the fender wells..Still getting 16 to 17 mpg. There is a little more rode noise from it sitting up a little higher.So if your needing to replace your suspension componets take ICON into consideration. You can even go bigger and badder on everything but I just wanted a little bit of lift and awhile lot better performance . I gotta change my coolant this afternoon . 2006 GX 470 Sticker was 56.000. I purchased in 2012 with 78000 miles am the 2nd owner, The vechicle was in above average condition All numbers matching all original glass except windshield.Well maintained, bought it from a Gentlemen and his wife for 24,000...As I took possession I immediately drove to auto parts store to replace stock air filter with KnN filter.I also relaxed the Hi and Low beam and fog bulbs with Sylvania .Iwas the first person ever to use the cigarette lighter, still none of the ash trays have ever been used..Mark Levinson stereo every thing worked,Leather was in excellent shape.The paint still to this day looks as good as it did when it was new,Could this have been sealed with something tr dealership?? MY paint looks better then some cars have its age..Rock Chips only few when purchased, but since I have owned the vehicle I have caused most of the chips in the paint. I changed all vehicle fluids to Amzoil tranny, transfer case, front and rear diff power steering flood . I put new brake pads all the way around,Yellow stuff EBC I think,most excellent for authoritative stopping power.Lots of brake dust though but its worth it, Just have to extra clean your wheels. I put a rear window mirror mount for my Escort Redline radar detector.First radar detector to save me from tickets, and I have had good one in the past.I tinted the windows with 5% all the way around with some special tint as not to interfere with any mobile communications. Just recently replaced suspension system with a, ICON stage 2 system 2 1/2 inch suspension lift with rear conversion to springs.Tire I replaced a couple oy years ago with Michelin AT 2s Getting excellent wear out of them..OPtium yellow top battery with gold 4 gauge post connectors...I had to replace alternator 130 amp earlier this year did myself, Had engine belt changed at 88000.After yellow stuff brake pads worn out replaced with Stop Tech discs and pads. Rotors are drilled and slotted, just recently put in another sets of EBC Yellowstuff pads .. front and back..5/30 oil in crankcase,Has 135000 as I write,, Gonna put on a hitch

My fellow GX owners, I knew you guys were here but, now taking time to to get some insight on certain aspects of my GX,so here I go,First off I purchased my 2006 Lexus used, in 2012 ,It had 77,000 on it,had a few paint chips little wear and tear on interior and exterior was ok,few little scrapes on driver rear above tire(unexplainable marks??) All original factory glass except windshield.All body parts with numbers matching tags. Only a few scrapes on under carriage indicating no hard abuse of four wheeling.All electrical working, mechanically every thing was most excellent, you could tell it had been adult driven and meticulously cared for. I was the first person to ever use the cig lighter, and ash tray never been used,alignment was straight, motor purred smooth. Here it is 2015 I have 130 k now and real big problems.My suspension is feel in a little soft and I am wondering what others have done to their GXs. Keep factory suspension?? Do a conversion of components to eliminate air suspension if so what product did you use??? Has any one did a suspension lift???? have the funds to do it now!!! Before going out and buying anymore guitars!!! Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated? My GX has received the following pampering, K&N air filter, Amsoil in transmission,transfer case front and rear pumpkins,power steering ,changed belt at 90k,Michelin AT 2s tires at 118 k, New spark plugs at 90k,New alternator at 125k, and replaced the front passenger side CV boot was torn when purchased .My GX 2006 silver paint is as brilliant as day it was painted, this is something I can't explain, my GX being almost 10 years old has more brilliant paint then most cars on the road now a days , don't get me wrong I have road chips and dings but the paint has held up remarkably see other Lexus GX that you can tell have not got that brilliance my paint has, chalk that up to well taken care of? Better paint at factory in 2006? Or can it be a dealer applied paint protectant??? after the sale??? I truly enjoy my GX 470 except one thing all the freaking time I spend prissing on it...It almost a image you must maintain to drive this vehicle, truly a class vehicle, all BMW ,Mercedes ,Range Rover ,American domestic Suv take notice when this Lexus goes buy. even in its stock format, this Lexus has Nav with Mark Levinson audio all options except DVD and KSS suspension. This vehicle is a chick magnet,a milf magnet as well....ANY way lets hear what others have to say, thanks to who appreciate what it is to drive a Lexus, Lets hear what makes our ride so cool,,, I have 5% tint all the way around with windshield brim done, bla bla bla,
