Local shop in ca wants $300 for parts and labor

I have been using synthetic oil from walmart for about two years. Price used to be $22 for a jug of five quarts now $26.98 and an ultra fram oil filter for $8.86 with taxes it comes out to be $38.80 something change.

Mine water pump was fine at 118,000 miles, that when I replace the timing belt and water pump

I change the transmission fluid after 90 ,000 miles and 24,000 miles afterwards

I did mine at 118,000 miles and I changed everything in that area such pulleys hydraulic tensioner, water pump, spark plugs, thermo stat seals and so on for $1000 at an independent shop. Car runs like new. I like to have a piece of mind. I hate to take chances.

Myrx330 has 130k miles and everything is still stock. I just did the major service which include water pump, timing belt, spark plugs and some other stuff for under a grand. Other than regular oil change is all I need every 6k miles since I use synthetic oil.

I changed mine once and the previous owner once. It's better to change it, oil will be dirty over time so it's a brainier to change it.
