  1. Southeastern or Midwest - depends on time of day. <_<
  2. What speed of connection are you using?
  3. :) Any time Bird ;)
  4. A fella named Ebanks and his SC300 right click - save as or deal with long buffering not 56k friendly For those claiming it is cheaper to go GTE and the GTE is better ...... I won't mention any names ........ Zeta.......... Just playin Z I just saw the thread over in the IS forum and need to make it clear. Here is a 2JZ-GE that will spank most GTE's and he spent a lot of money on it. This is all in fun... Utlimately it is the users choice to go NA-T or GTE swap, but the costs are relative. You could have a killer NA-T for the price of a GTE swap and it will be equally, if not more so, impressive. some details
  5. From an IS200 to a hybrid Altezza. Looks promising. Keep us posted. For the turbo (T88) needed to hit 1000hp and management controls, daily driveability will be sacrificed I would expect. The turbo size would be huge and to detune to 600 would require much less - or a better performing turbo (T62-70) for that range - IMO. What is your approach to this? Big Single, big doubles, parallel - what kind of management. For 1000hp are you planning on using a spool up kit or what? What is the motor going to rev to, what will the driveline be made of? - details man. I never saw the 200 motor before. Didn't know it was a 6. Thought it was a 4. Thanks for the pic! Z... you're starting to give me a complex. Stop saying the 2JZ-GE is weaker because it is not. The only difference is the cylinder head and the turbo and lower compression pistons. The internals are very strong from bottom to top.:(
  6. No - Brabus :P I have behind the scenes insight on Mercedes. But it is personal choice. Your correct. The SC300 is as solid as they get. But this is the only mercedes I would be interested in. I tried to get our German machinery supplier to include one with the last multi $$$$$$$$$ shipment but they couldn't find a way to "reasign" 150,000$ euro. :P That's me in the reflection at Brabus. Very cool experience.
  7. Questions about how a turbo works? That is a very basic run down. There is a great book by Corky Bell called Maximum Boost. Excellent reading about turbos and modification. Good luck getting your car to meet US standards. It is a major PITA. Start early and bring $$$. Unless you got a hook up ;) .
  8. Well there you have it. ;) Right on man.

704 members - excellent! Start posting all you lurkers. Say hi, ask a question, answer a question, sell something, buy something, go off topic....... everybody - SCREAM
  11. You are overconfident there my friend. It is an I6. You'd really be surprised. But I have yet to run the vette so I can say nothing at this point. Keep us posted Sypher.
  12. Don't know - I've always run 17's or 18's. We have a tire sizing calculator if that may help. Maybe one of the links in the FAQ, or perhaps an experienced SC400 owner would like to chime in here? Tire sizing
  13. What? No mardis gras?
  14. The only benz I would buy is a Braubus. Pound for pound, euro for euro, dollar for dollar - $$$ they don't compare.
  15. It's OK Z B) Got kinda carried away there I think, Matt. JDM SPEC - post pics and details when your ride arrives. Will you meet it at the boat?
  16. The honda is parked close to the lexus in the garage. That's about it. :P Nothing is better than a Lexus. B) I've met a few women that were almost as good. But the warranty ran out and they went to crap on me.
  17. Looks like he's rollin a 4.0 On the LS400, that is the 1UZ-FE the coolant fan is hydraulically driven if I remember correctly. Driven by the power steering fluid pressure. Therefore, I beleive that is your power steering pump you are referring to. Although it could be the water pump. Truth is, I haven't worked on the V8 model. Only the inline 6 so until someone else that knows better can come by, I'd suggest getting a shop manual if you really want to fix it yourself. Otherwise, go to your trusted mechanic. I'm 98% sure it is the power steering pump though. Let us know what you find out. Is it the pulley? Wobbly or what? People have had to rebuild those items in the past. Good luck.
  18. Greatness - the 1JZ is equally impressive. B) Merely .5 liters less displacement; it is the smaller brother of the 2JZ-GTE. The predecessor of it's design. Equally competent and with the twins operating in parallel (as opposed to sequentially on the 2JZ) it will offer a lifetime of enjoyment as well. If taken care of well. Zeta - the car forgives you. I think she went into the red a couple times too many though . After 110mph I had to wind her down . She was getting carried away ;) . We both feel better now though. :) Just givin ya a hard time ;)
  19. !Blasphemy! Don't make me come out to Texas. ;) Zeta - the 2JZ-GE is one of the strongest motors ever made. It has 7 four bolt mains where most V8's have 5. It has forged rods, resin coated drop forged pistons, a forged steel crank, a two piece rigid oil sump, and oil jets in the rods - all of this from the factory. It can handle more horsepower in stock form than any other motor I can think of. In fact, the only difference between it and the Supra TT motor (2JZ-GTE) is the oil jets for the pistons, the compression on the pistons and the head. The GE is one of the best motors to ever come out from toyota - better than any mr2 3sgte, 3sge, 7mge or te, 4age, on and on. <_< The toyota in line 6 is the most overbuilt, underated motor in history. Never say it has weaker internals compared to an mr2 or anything else because that is not true. B) I'm not trying to boil any blood but I want it to be known that this motor is one of the best to ever be introduced by toyota and offered in a Lexus. :D Now I need to go take a drive and tell my car you didn't mean it. I'll be sure to hit 18 psi and 60mph in 4 seconds just to assure her that no MR2 is gonna get the best of her.
  20. A genII MR2 eh? Well, that is a completely different animal. Mid engine, rear wheel drive - turbo. I woud buy both and leave the pickup truck outside. MR2's are easily track worthy. Capable of approximately 300hp with a good turbo and controls on a 3sgte. But that takes $$$ and to go over 300-350hp requires internal modification. But they are cool cars. A SC300 obviously is going to weigh more. But for approximately the same amount of money can be turboed too. And it can make 400 to 500 hp before internal modification. And after modification it can make up to 1000hp like my boy Ethan Banks. OF course that cost mucho dinero. The SC300 is going to be harder to handle. Both cars are equally rare in the respective state you are referring to. But a turbo SC300 is much more rare and if done right, will last forever or until it is crashed. It's your call. I have thought about those cars a couple times too, but nothing beats a turbo Lexus in cool points and but kickin points. To have them both would be the best of two worlds. Sounds like your leaning towards the MR2 though and that is not bad. But you won't be able to flex like the guys with a turbo SC300 ;) It's your money, your choice and ultimately, your car - sounds like you've got a winner there. It could potentially be very hard to find a SC300 in the state you would want to go turbo form (you can always save money that way and repair items). It will probably will cost more money to do so with a excellent condition, low miles JZZ31. They can be turboed at any point though and new motors are not hard to come by.
  21. Truely amazing. I like what they did with that site though. Thanks for the good read and the joy of seeing the scam turned around.
  22. Hey, I'm all for a meet. I'm unavailable to do anything until August. I'm in the Southeast region of the United States. The Midwest is no problem either. I would love to arrange a Florida meet or North Carolina but I can do nothing until the end of summer. I would like to attend the first inaugral US LOC meet in this region at least. Therefore, I propose some solid plans be made and a date set for the end of August. As more members appear, we can get a better standing of what and where. I'll generate some ideas and throw them out here. Gavron1 does have meets with the SELOC group in Atlanta - could be a method for introductory exposure. It is too far for me to travel for a Sunday though. I'll be in touch.
  23. Welcome to USLOC. Keep us posted on your work and shows. Is this the first Lexus you have done?
