If you are talking about getting the bulb out of the socket itself, then you'll have to wiggle the bulb every direction possible while holding the socket in solid position. Those bulbs fit tight. Really tight. Just keep working it is all I can really say. I've broken automotive bulbs in their socket before and it is not really a fun thing to deal with but a little flathead screwdriver does the trick clearing the remenants. Patience and elbowgrease.

In my opinion, it is a waste of time to swap a manual 5speed factory w58 into an auto SC300. If you want to swap a tranny, it better be behind a 400+ hp GE or GTE and using a 6 speed getrag. To answer your question though, I think it would be easier to find a manual SC300 than to swap the tranny. I found one turboed on autotrader. If you need help finding one, I come across at least 1 every two weeks or so. Tell me the area you are looking and I'll drop you a pm. The cost of getting a new or used W58 will approach the cost of buying a getrag. Then finding the ecu, cutting the center console, fitting it in, etc. Unless your one of those engine swap guys to begin with. Plus, the highest hp SC300 is an auto matic. Although he is down now for a spun bearing. 940 hp and 650+ ft pounds of torque will do that I guess.

*clears throat* Oh yea - the w58 5speed will work with the supra TT automatic lsd as a direct pumpkin swap. The 6 speed tt diffy is gonna be a whole lot more difficult, unless of course, you have the getrag and shafts as well to slap up in that !Removed!. Benefits - 5 speed w/ tt auto lsd, less sacrifice on acceleration (though a little) and the pluses of lsd ness out of the hole, turning, hot dogging - etc. Drawbacks - less top end and a slaughtered 5speed tranny if your clutch lasts that long. :( :( Solution $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :magic: Or generally not hot doggin and running like a bat out of hell from the digs. Man - that's a tough one.

I believe this body is sexy. Nice job. The front could use a little work. And then there is all this talk of a 3.5 V6 and a 4.3 or was it 5.2 V8? Now the v8 would be a nice candidate. But I am still wrapped up with the turbo. I'm a boost addict and nothing will cure me of that. Due to this fact - I am eerily drawn to the inline format. Give me an inline 6 or 8 cylinder. Screw the 45 degree or whatever degree 90 whatnot split block. Although I could be convinced with a nice TT biturbo style kick in the pants. Who knows. I plead to toyota - GIVE ME TURBO, OR GIVE ME DEATH. Alas, I think this rendering is inacurrate. The actual vehicle may be similar - but not this design. There is a V8 in the the toyota GT race car this year. Nothing less than a stroked and built Lexus 3uz. :D

I've seen uncut keys on e-bay. But they fetch a decent price. After acquiring one of those, I would think a good locksmith or key man would be able to cut it out. Make sure they can handle that invers key though. That woulc be an expensive botch.

You know what I would do.... Drain all fluids - refill with the stop leak stuff. Then sell the car. Shady, I know but - we've got to cut our loses. Better yet, take it to a dealership and trade it in. Don't sell it to some poor unwitting person. Or don't listen to my shifty !Removed!. Nevermind.

Single Turbo Or 2jzgte Engine Conversion...

What is a quaff of fruity alcopop though - a wine cooler? see #11 #28 Is true. End of issue. I agree with the rest as well - but 28 should be a law or something. And no SUV's.
-
Sounds like a head gasket. That is a big price job. Do a compression test to make sure. Drain all oil and coolant, flush and refill. Then do a compression test. That's what I would do.

Meddle, Same deal with buying used vehicles as mentioned before. The timing belt has a cover on it and the serpentine belt will need to be removed to get at it. As well as the cooling fan and fan shroud. These belt items are usually changed at the same time. I'm away from my manuals at the moment but I'll get some diagrams here in a couple days. The belts should have been changed at 120,000 as well as a major tune up done. If the seller does not answer this question affirmatively then offer at least $600 less from asking price because this is the cheapest estimate I've seen from a Lexus dealership for this job. If the serpentine belt (the visible belt driving the accessories) looks good (nice black color not dried out looking with cracks), and the seller says that the job has been done - it is safe to say that you will be good for another 60,000. Otherwise, have a major tune up done. I always change all fluids immediately upon purchase of a vehicle. Change the air filter if it is the stock intake, ask if the vehicle has passed emissions if you live in an emission check area. If no successful pass, lower the offer another 300$ minimum for O2 sensor replacement and intake cleaning. Make sure only premium gas was used in the car and only use high octane gas in your new SC. Check the power steering pump and lines for leaks. That is the issue I'm dealing with now. Although it is not a major issue.

Sorry I missed this one too. Ouch. Unfortunately the LSOC is out of commision I guess. Try google for now. We'll get something together though.

^ good for a bump :D

Sorry this post slipped by. Try a CD cleaner first. If no success, any good cd changer can be used as an aftermarket solution. Good luck. :)

Higher resistance. Check body grounds for corrosion. It's tedious I know. Don't give up - you'll find it. Good luck.

I agree. Working on options currently. ;)

Hang in there - I'll get some info in a day or so. Very buisy.

The timing belt needs to be changed every 60,000 miles. I can get the procedure if needed but alot of components need to be removed for this job. Care must be taken not to lose any critical set points. But the DIYer can do it themselves. The headlight has three bolts holding it in. I can also get the information on dealing with the foggy headlight issue. But there is a thread here with that info and a very good write up in the faq if you follow the link to www.intelexual.net . Good luck. :)

Acceleration Delays In 02 Gs 300
AWJ replied to antione's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Us engineers think alike. ;) But he is wrong. There is something you can do about it. While it is of course very important to run high test and keep your ignition and intake system well maitained for optimum performance, a reworked converter will give more beast to your machine. This engineer probably is discouraged from recommending this type of modification because manufacturers don't want to ecourage use of their vehicles beyond the original intention. And that intention is to be a luxo family cruiser aimed at the benign general public - the mass typical Lexus driver. The Precision Industries unit has been well recieved in the aftermarket Lexus community - www.converter.com Sound Performance in Chicago also has an offering with full warranty if they do the install and a tranny cooler is installed as well. www.sound-performance.com I also have these sites linked in the SC forum FAQ. A modified ecu may also allow for massaged shift points better suited to a quick response for the lead foot. Good luck. -
DEANSKI, I'm sorry to hear of this negative situation. I had a 93 model with very impressive finish from the paint. The 95 model is even better. A few ticks here and there can be expected on this older vehicles. Unfortunatly, your case is different. It is very possible some sort of mishap ocurred with the painting process of your vehicle. I would strongly encourage communication with the dealership where you purchased the vehicle. I was under the impression that Toyota paint process is one of the best in industry. In fact their entire manufacturing system is one that is persued and modeled around the world. That said, no one is perfect. I would bring up some warranty coverage and go from there. You should not have any problem with this approach. If you do, remain calm and take it to the next level with corporate lexus. There is the Lexus website as well at: Lexus Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I was contacted by a member having some difficulty with the fuel door on their SC. I have obtained some technical information that was scanned and loaded to our odds and ends gallery. Hope this helps a little. I'm working with a couple members on factory manuals. I hope to have something tangible by the end of June possibly as early as sometime July. If anyone has any burning technical issue with their SC and would like a couple pages I may be of assistance. Feel free to start a thread or pm me. Keep on "USLOCing" everybody. Sorry about the alignment.

I like the idea Mr. Sypher. If your prices are good - of course I would buy. Hell, I'd be willing to open a franchise. Things I'm interested in are performance stuff though. Like JIC FLTA-2 coilovers, Advan or NZO wheels, Pheonix turbo components - jdm front mount intercooler. Carbon fiber hood - is what I really want for my SC. I could use a nice wideband O2/egt kit, a TRD or equivalent Supra LSD (automatic TT model), bushings and sways, etc, etc, etc. 25% - that would be based off of a huge mark up I suspect ;) Either way - good luck if you decide to persue that. I've though about it as well but can't make the plunge because customer satisfaction is a hard thing to get right given the mind set of most customers.

Are you affiliated with some sort of shop or something? MR. Sypher.

;) Just makin sure :)
