  1. That is typical of a slushbox. There is probably nothing wrong. If you want more response you should get a performance torque converter with a modified stall rpm in it. Precision Industries
  2. Why not a 510 or 1970's fairlady?
  3. Poeple have painted the housings black. Slight reduction in reflectivity - unless primered and superclearcoated correctly. Indiglo is just Sorry.
  4. I also have 400 ft lbs of torque. So that helps to break loose on a slightly wet, really wet, or completely dry - road.
  5. I'm the same height and do not have this problem.
  6. I like Magnecor wires. But I don't have them on my SC. I run a stock ignition set-up. You only need the big sheilded wires if you are running an amplfied multi discharge capacitive induction system like MSD or any of the others. Just putting those expensive wires will not help anything. I'm running a "hot" ignition on my honda - and I'll tell you it doesn't do much but slightly increase response - (very slightly) - and it helps fuel mileage during normal driving. An upgraded ignition should follow heavy upgrades along the lines of Nitrous Oxide Systems or forced induction. It is pointless on stock compression intake/header/exhaust cars. I learned this the hard way. ALthough I did plan to go turbo or n^2o on the honda - just never did.... yet.
  7. The Soarer 2.5 GT had the LSD as an option. I'm looking for one now. It is rumored that the mkiv TT auto tranny diffy will bolt in, but I have recently heard otherwise. The Soarer diffy would be ideal if one could be located - Big Bloke - Toyota Imports Forum
  8. Don't forget our partner's Midas. They have a discount. :magic:
  9. I have those on both my cars. They are not too bad in mild rain on a honda. On the beast, they slip like the dickens on any moisture. Heavy rain - not so great. They slip like grease in the snow. They are great price and do perform great on dry road. Little noisy but - I don't care about that.
  10. Cars and girls are always great thing.
  11. Sounds like a decision that should be made by yourself. A lot of people are asking the forum what car they should buy. Does anyone think for themselves anymore? Buy me a supra TT. Then buy yourself a corolla. ;)
  12. Maybe 30 horsepower. I say, what's the point?
  13. Precision Industries How converters work
  14. What about Rev Hard? They are making an application for the SC? Get a "kit" or a set-up from an established company that gives a warranty. If you don't know how to install - you should pay someone who does. Learn as much as you can. Start in the faq.
  15. You could buy a Toyota, Nissan or Honda. But Lexus is definitely not a bad buy. That is really high insurance. I would move first. Buy a 95.
  16. What is your website? Details please. See Matt McNalley about becoming an advertiser - good way to get your product word out. Thanks, AJ
  17. I'm still trying to figure that out.
  18. Any takers? .... I may be partaking in this activity - not sure yet but most likely.... Looks like a lot of fun....
  19. Goodyear aquatreads are decent. Some swear by blizzaks for the winter season. I just don't drive in the snow - or use the beater.
  20. Nice deal. Check out our faq and definitely look at Peter Scott's Soarer link. Lots of good info. I'd recommend a torque converter as the best way to free up power on the V8. Then, it depends on your goals. Direct port nitrous oxide and a fuel supplement or custom turbo. The fancy cold air intakes and headers may look cool and sound good but they rarely do much for performance.
  21. No, the turbo is simply a bolt on set-up for the stock motor. Everything exterior is stock SC300 except for the wheels and exhaust. No front clips here.
  22. Most after market seats will lower the seating position. Seats like recaro, sparco, etc. Even the stock mkiv supra seats will lower the drivers position. It probably is not by much though.
