  1. Interesting - good info bro.
  2. Very nice bro. Thanks. I'll merge this up with the faq here shortly.
  3. No man. I think 285 is too wide. 275 should be safe. 265 will definitely be fine as long as your offest is +40 to +50.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion. I will consider putting this as an added post to the general FAQ stickied up top. Do you have any links handy to share? Thanks, AJ
  5. Your ignitor might effect starting but it is not the usual suspect. You should be able to do a conituity check on it and know. Chances are, if your ignitor was bad, your car won't start at all. More likely the sustpect is the solenoid in your starter. The contacts are wearing out. Eventually, they will wear down to the point that your car will not start at all. Happened to me on my '93 SC. Has happened to a few other SC4 guys here. Problem is, your starter on the SC4 is much more work to get to than on the SC3. Best of luck.
  6. Oxygen sensor should throw a code. Did you do an mil check? Try that first. I have the procedure if you need it. Also, you might want to just try and run the fuel pump in high voltage mode just to see if it happens. Won't hurt. Just don't leave it in high voltage mode for a long time.
  7. I'm only guessing here. But it probably wont work because after 96 was obd2 and the addition of oxygen sensors and possible catlytic converter. Changing the way things go together. Now you 92 to 96 bolt on Greddy cat back probably won't line up quite correctly. But if you really want it, you could buy it. Then take it to a good exhaust shop or specialty shop. They could most likely make it fit with a welder and some creativity. Might cost you a little more though.
  8. The differential limits the car to 160 mechanically I think. Change the gears out and higher speed is possible up to the rev limit in last gear. I also believe the automatic versions have a speed governor/fuel/ignition cut that hits at approximately 146. I have not personally gone that fast to know though.
  9. I personally, would like to deal with the SC430 right here in this forum. They are a part of the Lexus sport coupe line up. We deal with sport coupes. We are not generation specific in these forums. I want to deal with owners of these cars. I may consider getting one in the future. I don't think it will be difficult to weed through and presents a learning opportunity for those who post. If everyone else thinks they should be separate, we will consider it. I'll leave this thread here for a day to get other SC member inputs - and then this thread should go to website suggestions forum for admin consideration. Thanks, AJ
  10. It will bolt in. But the harness will not be a perfect fit. The 6 speed transmission is not a perfect fit. But it's close enough that it is doable.
  11. I don't drive over the speed limit. But I'm going to try to go to the track next Friday. I'll post my slip. Just the 1/8th mile though.
  12. Don't stray too far from OEM offset. You may encounter problems. I do not know the SC430 offset but I would imagine it is near +50. If so, anything beyond +35 is going to potentially present issues. The best way to know is to test fit a wheel. Try to find a shop that will let you test fit a wheel of similar size and offset to give a better idea of clearance. OEM SC430 wheels are 18" correct? +2 is not a bad upsize. Sidewall will effect ride quality before tire size. Keep in mind, you will want to keep near the same overall diameter though after the tires are mounted.
  13. Welcome Hagis. It is great to have you. You are correct, our SC430 experience is limited. We would love to have some more contributions in that arena. Congratulations on your purchase. I look forward to seeing you around. So let's see a pic of that baby when she gets off the boat eh? If we can get you out of the driver seat for that long. ;)
  14. Here is the fuel pump info. Fuel pump info It could be your torque converter, transmission, or differential also. Did the dealer even test anything or did they just go and replace the headgasket? Since it is intermittent, it could be a solenoid valve in the tranny.
  15. Sounds like the fuel pump ecu thing again. The dealer you took it too did a lot of unnecesary work. I'll see if I can dig up the threads we discussed it on. Otherwise try a search for fuel pump relay or something like that.
  16. I would consider it if it was a 3.3L inline turbo and called a 2005 Lexus SC330. And came with a 6 speed. But then I couldn't afford the insurance.
  17. Wish I could make it guys. There are a few cats out there I'd like to meet. Unfortunately, I'll have to sit this one out. Have fun guys.
  18. Not bad at all my man. What did we do for management on that thing?
  19. If it has no scratches and no broken mounting points, then I'd say it is a fair price. If it has marks and broken bolt holes, well I have one I will sell you for cheaper. Two actually. Both with the passenger side top bolt tab cracked or broken. But still perfectly good as far as function. Let me know if you are interested and what you think a fair price will be. I can take pictures.
  20. Hard to say Neni, without seeing the leak. Can you get a picture of where it is leaking from for us to look at? Otherwise, they could both be right. If you aren't losing a lot of oil though, you may not need to worry about it. Just keep an eye on oil level. Fix the oil pan gasket first. Then do the main seal if there is still a leak. Best of luck. I have a few oil leaks myself.
  21. :whistles: Nice work JPI. He needs some NZO halo's to set all that off I think. ;)
  22. Tax write off. Now there's an idea. Just need a federal Id #. Hmmm.
  23. I have not decided exactly wich system I want yet. I need to contact their tech support and go from there. Right now, I need to raise money to repaint my car. Don't ask. As soon as that is done, I will be on the horn to Air Ride. I will let you guys know what I find out and decide. I am looking at the Shockwave system.
  24. I'm 26. Maybe you guys are just gettin' a little slower? ;) I'm just jokin'. If I'm in a parking lot practicing something - it's goin sideways. That's what the left foot is for in my mind. Heel-toe and skidz marks. Occasional e-brake. That'll stop ya fast. Keep bein' safe guys. B)
