Excellent information bud. I will have to archive that in my personal folder. Thanks much. Great work!

It's all good. I just had to give you a hard time after the audio faq thing. ;) Best of luck with your system. Oh yea, when you use our search function, you might want to make sure you set it to search all threads. I think the default is to search threads to 1 month back or something like that in whatever forum you mark to search. The stickied threads up top hold a whole lot of information though. You can usually browse through them before doing a search if it is SC or SC performance specific.

trunk space - 9.3 cubic feet do you need me to convert it to cubic inches for you too? how about cm^3? It's stickied right up there in the specs thread. I posted in like 2002.http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84& What good is the faq if you don't use it? Just givin' ya a hard time man. ;)

Sc300 Valve Lifters Leaking, Need Replace

JPI, he should let the car sit overnight. Not *BLEEP* overnight. Although that might be what it looks like in there. ;) -
Almost Done Swapping The Stock Supra Struts.

It always does my man. Nice work. -
This is the only pic I have that even gets close. Over to the upper right hand side is where you can access the passenger side strut from the top. You gotta kinda climb in there. You'll have to pull all the trunk liner. Start with the main backside cover over the gas tank. It's clipped at the top. Carefully but firmly pull it back and out slightly downwards. Wrestle with it and it will come out. The rest are held with those plastic push tabs and screw tab assy's. You'll need a philips and a tab puller or whatever they call that special service tool. I just use my fingers or carefully use a flathead screwdriver. Every time I do it, I wind up breaking or losing one. I had a link on where to get more of them somewhere. I'll need to dig it up. Good luck.

Damn. You guys make me proud. The only way to make more power is to increase compression or displacement. Maximum Boost - hell yea JPI. I read that book two years ago when I was buying parts for my 1993. Then I read it again last year when I bought my 1995 on the airplane flight going to look at it. I'll probably read it again. And reference it for the rest of my life. I always recommend that book to anyone who asks me anything about forced induction. Someone recommended it to me way back. I'm just returning the favor.

Hites, if you like, I will see if we have some scrap metal laying around at work. If so, I'll cut out the cover and fab up a frame to mount it too. You might have to cut the frame down though depending on how you do your box. I also have a cone filter element left over from my old 93 SC, all you would need is a maf adapter, wich I think I still also have. You could put the box around it. That is the way my 93 was set up. Let me know if you are interested.

Ok 250. Sorry. Drive line loss still puts it way below that number. Not trying to harp on the idea. It is a good thing to do. I'd give props to any SC4 with full headers and exhaust. Slap a 100 shot of juice on top of it. That will put butterflies in the tummy. It is typically a bad idea to put any restriction in a balanced system though. I personally highly doubt that the electric super charger thing is going to benefit the system. I would think that it would hinder flow. If one would like to try it, by all means, go for it. I'll give it a closer look tomorrow.

Try the audio links in our faq. If you don't get a solution from there - we will try to help out. Try the audio/video forum and search it as well. We have a couple helpful members that frequent there.

Sc300 Valve Lifters Leaking, Need Replace
AWJ replied to thombiz's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Has the 80,000 mile maintenance been done on the car? If not, have it done. Go from there. You can do the amsoil thing - it won't hurt, but that it is a critical service time at 80 and 160. -
Hydraulic Or Electric Fan On '98 And Newer Sc400s?
AWJ replied to K9crew's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Hydraulic. Don't know about the 430, but I would assume it is hydraulic as well. -
What you guys are recommending will increase flow and enhance performance. As far as it bumping up to 300 ponies - I'll believe it when I see a dyno plot. I have a hard time believing it will move it that far. I think the 1uz in the 92 SC is rated at 240 or so crank hp. That might mean 200 at the wheels optimistically.

Wich capacitors did you change mbald93? Would you happen to have a part # on those or recommendation on where to get them? Thanks AJ

Wish I could have snapped some pics of the races. Next time. Maybe some video footage. ;)

You've got to remove the fabric like suede felt trunk panel. The sockets will then be exposed. Once you see them, it's similar to your other light bulbs.

Radiator Flush... How Much Fluid?
AWJ replied to silkiechicken's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Manual tranny model holds 9 us quarts. Auto tranny model holds 8.9 us quarts. Use ethylene glycol based coolant. 50/50 water/coolant mix so 4.5q water, 4.5q coolant -
Jimbo is correct. Chap, I've got to move this over to the maintenance forum. Good luck on the bulb thing.

Yes if you try to run a 285 on it.

Sc300 Valve Lifters Leaking, Need Replace
AWJ replied to thombiz's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Yea, that's a dual over head cam motor. No lifters. If anything, you could use a shim job. Are you seeing oil somewhere? If so, it is a valve cover gasket. Do you change the oil as recommended? You could try a fuel system cleaner and oil treatment. If you are looking for a good mechanic, JPI is your man. -
Hey guys, This is no big car show or anything, but myself and a couple other Supraforums members are organizing a get together at either the Dave and Busters in Cincy or Longworth in Downtown Cincy. This will take place on Saturday April 17. There is a charity car show Sunday April 18 at the La Salle High School in Cincy as well. I'm going to meet up with an estimated 25 members of supraforums and a couple Lexus buddies on the 17. Then I'm going to show Sunday at the charity event. It's for charity, so it's a good cause. I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn on the Newport side of the Ohio river the night of the 17. Then I'll go show a La Salle. After this event, my car goes into the shop for full repaint. So I'll be down, potentially until August. Thus - the Allentown event will be my next outing (hopefully). Still to early to tell yet. Well, if you're interested - hit the link. I know it's sort of short notice. But I'd love to meet up with some of you guys and connect a face to the car and name. Take care, AJ April 17 meet and April 18 charity event PM me for directions to meet locations or phone number.

I think the yamaha r1's will to 170+ as well as the cbr's. The 1000cc bikes will go even faster. Remove the governer - if they even have one - and your easily at 200+. I don't have a bike because I know I'd have to try it. I'd kill myself. Just recently had a buddy break a vertabrae, two ribs, and collapse both lungs on a 750cc 4 wheeler. A helicopter trip and two months later - he is now back home recovering. Walking and talking almost like nothing happened. We are very thankful for that. Easily puts things into perspective.

285 on 9" wide. At +50 or less will rub without fender mods.

Picutres are now in the gallery located here . Thanks Matt. Enjoy.

It's a work in progress. If you want to put together a page in word and send it to me - I'll put it in a separate audio faq. For now, this will do. Thanks for your input.
