  1. It's just a stock pewter 2002 GS430 with black interior. Nothing worth taking pictures of. Not sure if I'll modify this car as I'm using it for a daily driver and expecting that legendary Lexus reliability. Anyone want to buy a 99 Audi A6Q with 74k for $13k? hehe : )
  2. Just a little FYI. They got the steering wheel covered under warranty and are replacing it with a brand new one : ). Buying the car tomorrow after it's installed for $27,500. Seems like a good deal to me.
  3. It can't be the actual wood as there's a significant layer of clear on top of the wood. I wonder if I could buff it or wet sand it? I'm assuming someone has tried that before. ...and yes I plan to suggest a healthy discount for that, I found a lot of nicks and a small crease in the rear bumper cover with a paint scuff nearby indicating the person backed into a pole or was rear ended at slow speeds, oddly enough it's missing the spare tire as well, it has a full size rim in the well without a tire. 4. I've got this GS430 in my garage overnight to inspect it before possible purchase and my wife noticed the steering wheel is a different colored wood than the interior trim parts. It has black interior with the cherry looking wood, dark with lots of red. On the other hand the steering wheel is much lighter wood or sun faded clear coat or something. Has anyone ever seen this? It's still under the bumper to bumper warranty for a short while so is it safe to assume the dealer would have to correct this? the correct darker wood steering wheel would dramatically improve the interior look. I searched here and even on google and can't find any mention of another person seeing this. Kevin W.
  5. Bleh, database error now I have to retype this. Here's the condensed and less fluffy version. I'm considering buying a 2002 GS430 silver/blk 49,000 miles w/nav and stereo. Listing for $29,900. What's a fair price from a dealer for this car in good condition? Keep in mind this is winter in Minnesota and it's not a great car for that season. Since the warranty is up in 600 odd miles are there any common problems I should bring to a dealer suggesting it be looked at before it expires? Is an extended warranty worthwhile? Can't do CPO it seems since it's a Mercedes dealer selling it. The cars have such a great reputation for reliability is an extended warranty a waste of money assuming proper care? Last question is what kind of life expectancy can one expect from these cars in terms of miles assuming they are well cared for? Is it realistic to expect 150,000 miles before major issues? Again assuming proper care? The car will be pretty babied as I have a 600hp twin turbo 93 rx7 track / street car if I really need to go fast etc. Thanks in advance, Kevin Edit: Won't let me fix the title
