  1. Hi, Try Sewell Lexus in Tx. They are freat and the web guy seems to know everything...Also they give good prices. ps. have your vin and they will look up the correct parts.. Bruce
  2. Hi, Why don't you try and look into something like leasetrader.com...You may find a Lexus that could be had for about 6 to 12 months on the lease and then buy it out after you transfer it to you. I don't know about the financials, but, a 2000 and up can have a extended policy written on it for about $2350. for 7 yrs.(from the original date of purchase and up to 100,000miles, bumper to bumper Just like factory. I also understand that a 3/36,000mi. can be written at a 50% copay. Most dealers (not Luxus) buy auction cars that arn't CPO's and put a little something into them and put them in the paper or on ebay (a new favorite), so the lease thing might be a better fit.... Good luck, Bruce
  3. I too bought merchandise from Sewell and found them to be 'more' than just a parts counter...I can only hope that the extended warranty and service contract I just bought will have the same execellent result. The last dealership that I was impressed with was Saturn...Don't laugh, they tried harder than BMW and the other FANCY IMPORTS. I think Lexus will continue to deliver... Bruce
  4. For Real, It swirls the air which make for a smoother flow. I have checked it out and it DOES make a difference!!! Who said anything about 'turning'????
  5. Hi Guys, I'm looking for anyone else bored enough to put a front/rear air dams and side skirts on a RX300. All I see in the adds are long distance pics and (of course) how easy it is. I want to lower it about 1"-2" and put the body kit on the 'lil beast' (but MOMMA will have my nads if I muck-it-up!!! Soo, as opposed to going for it...anybody have any pics of what they have done??? I have found 2 mild kits and 2 wild kits (way too much work) to try. Looking for a little help here... Thanks, Bruce ps. I switched here because the other forum was getting no traffic, Thanks Bruce :cries:
  6. Hi Guys, I did buy the Turbonator for both the RX300 and the Sienna van (same motor) and it does make it easier to turn the tires...it would be better with a cold air induction (I believe).. Bruce
  7. You will have better luck duct taping cow magnets to the fuel line. ← Hi guys, What are.................................................... 'Cow magnets?' Bruce
  8. Mike, It's simple...read below...Four holes 00 00 and your almost done Bruce
  9. Hi Guy, I just did the job on my 03 and it was easy!!! It took about 1/2 hour and looks great. The template that has (in Japanesse) a "L" on it is for the left side. Tape the templates on the corners and drill the holes (after you 'ping' where they go (with the templates in place). Make sure the pop-rivet hole is the proper diameter and put some weathertite putty around it before you set it. The other hole will kind of line up with the pop-out on the underside of the trunk lid. We drilled all the holes with the small drill and then enlarged them according to how the spoiler lined up. Be sure to put weather-putty on washer before it goes into the spoiler. Also, the spoiler 'pushes down' before the small bolts goes in, so be sure that they are in the moved down position before you enlarge the bolt holes. If you get a case of the nerves...call me it takes longer to write than to do... Bruce blstout@gte.net
  10. Bob, Your dealer would love to talk about it and find someway to work in some computer time and all those things...but...The truth is the weight of the vehicle and the amount of energy(torque) it takes to get it moving, 18 in the city IS good. The stop and go and the on and off the gas is a major killer of good MPG. I have given up and just go have fun in the car. My daily ride is a Sieanna van (with the same motor) and a car load of teens gets about 16mpg. But on the road with no air it gets around 25mpg. It sits about 2" lower than the RX and is about 12" longer and has a little less compression. But they are listed as having the same HP. Go figure... If you take the crossbars off the roof rack your mpg will go up by 1 or 2 mpg. My wifes riode is a '03 with 22,500 miles on it... Bruce

  12. AG, I've turned in several cars at lease end. Tires are 'normal wear' for the mileage you have. Basically @ 50,000 miles there is a fair amount of wear. Spending $600. or more won't change anything. The dealership is more interested in the maint. end and being able to 'resale' the car on that idea. Be sure that you give all the keys and such... I hope your mileage penality isn't too steep!!! :chairshot:
  13. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has lowered a RX300 (03)... I would like to fill the wheel well with tires but the strut tower is only about an inch above the tires! So that means forget it, or, find a reasonible priced way to accomplish this. I don't want to 'frog-up' the ride (as this is what momma likes) but lower is also more stable and better around corners. Thank you in advance for your time and effoprts!!!! Bruce
  14. HI, I just bought a RX300-03 and it came with only one master key and 1 slave key. I bought another key online (from a dealer) but I need to get it authorized (the chip) by the system. Anybody out there know how to do this? I would greatly appreciate the time and effort. Bruce
