  1. This is much later than your original post, but owners of 2006-8 era Lexus cars may still be having this problem. The dash and door panels of our 2006 IS250 became softer and stickier over time. Apparently, Lexus used a material on some of these cars that didn't stand up, especially in hotter climates. There was a technical service bulletin on it. I think if you take it to the dealer and complain about how it has held up, you might get some help. We did and Lexus covered replacement of the dash and one door. We paid for the other (still cost $1300). Now the interior looks brand new and we've decided to keep the car instead of getting a new IS.
