  1. The GPS in my 2002 SC430 recently stopped working. I took the car to the Lexus dealer, they looked at it for a couple of hours, said that they had never seen this happen and said that they could order me a new antenna and install it for $1,750. I said "maybe later". When I started the car, the navigation system was working perfectly. But that only lasted for a few days. The symptom of what is wrong is that the letters GPS on the display are gone. According to the manual, that means that the computer isn't receiving a signal from the sattelite. Anybody know how to fiix this easily? It seems to me that it should be relatively easy to reconnect the antenna. Thanks
  2. The two keys that won't start the car have not had their code added to the control unit. All you need to do is execute the correct sequence of events required by the ECU to tell it to accept the code from each of the keys. If you have 1 key that will start the car, whether it is a master, a valet, or a flat key, the key that will start the car can be used to program the car to accept a new key. Any good locksmith can tell you what the magic sequence of events is required to tell the ECU that a key is good.
  3. Simple to replace: 1. Buy new blank master key with 3 buttons (E-Bay?) 2. Take to locksmith 3. Have locksmith duplicate using valet key as guide 4. Follow correct 'magic' sequence which locksmith can describe to you to add new key to existing controller. 5. New 3 button key works. It still won't open the trunk or the glove compartment any better then the valet key, but you won't have to replace the controller either.
