  1. Checked this morning and they are at 32 psi. Also a correction, sorry they have 25,000 miles not 15,000 (typo).
  2. I have the original tires – Michelin 235 55 R18 – on my RX330. After about 15,000 miles I noticed road noise increasing. The Lexus dealer said these tires wear on the outer edges in such a way that they do increase in noise. I think he called it “cupping”. I asked if I did anything wrong (such as tire pressure or alignment), and he said it is just the way these tires wear and that these are a lower profile tire which contribute to the problem. I called several tire dealerships and they confirm the problem. I was irritated as the tires cost ~$1000 to replace, but are still noisy after a short period of time! Several tire dealers said I could go to a higher profile tire and this decreases the noise problem. One suggestion was 245 60 R18. (Also these tires are slightly cheaper.) So are they right? The noise is not really bad, but louder than a $40,000 car should be and I want it quieter. Does anybody have a suggestion for quiet, reasonably priced tires. And worse, if I put larger tires on the car, will the speed read correctly?
  3. I have the same problem. Took the car into the dealer and they re-flashed as well. No real difference. I have noticed, however, that if I know in advance that I will be in traffic that is stop and go, and may need to give it gas quickly but do not want the jolt, I can put the car temporarily in 4th. All of a sudden the car acts very differently. I only do this when traffic is very bad, and I know I may need to get into another lane quickly, or do not want the jolt. It also seems to significantly reduce the "hesitation" problem I had with the transmission. After the traffic and I can get up to speed, I put it back in "D". However, I was wondering if this was a bad thing to do, or if it reduced the life of the trans. Any thoughts?
  4. That is amazing!!! Where in the world did you find this information? There are A LOT of other features on this screen. Can you tell me what they are or where I can go to find the information on them? Looks like lots and lots of hidden goodies Lexus did not want me to find!
  5. I have the exact same problem. Been to the dealer and they say "vehicle is operating as designed". Can you please be more specific about the modifications, place of the welds and where to put the flex coupling. I would like to do this, but I need to give the shop very exact instructions.
  6. We recently purchased a 2005 RX330. This is our first SUV and we are disappointed with the sound system, as we are use to driving sedans with 6X9s in the rear. The radio is the 8 speaker 132 Premium Sound system, 6CD changer, not the MarkLevinson version. Can we add some 6x9s behind the rear seats? (I know I must build a box.) Could I disconnect the rear door speakers and run the line directly to them? We just want the rich full sound we are use to. I don’t want it loud, just better. So I was hoping not to add amps, change the stereo, etc. Just some better speakers. Any advise?
  7. I also want to add an Auxiliary Input Adapter in my RX330. Specifically, I want XM radio. I listened to the difference between fm modulation and direct connect and the direct is much, much better. Looking on the internet I found a couple of places that sell these adapters. One from Vais Technology (vaistech.com) has a model AIC-100x which allows direct XM integration and provides an additional AUX adapter. (Which is what I think your are looking for.) There are others out there, this is the most expensive one, however. If you have installed one already, can you tell us which one and how well it works?
  8. We had a Honda Accord which allowed you to input destinations while the car was in motion. I miss that with our Lexus. Wrote directly to Lexus and they confirmed that nav function was limited while the car was in motion. I argued that the car was smart enough to know when someone was in the passenger seat (for the airbags) and should allow the nav system to be changed if someone is in that seat. We have been on trips on the highway before, gotten hungry, and wanted to find a place up ahead. Could not do it unless we wanted to pull to the side of the road. I know it is a safety issue, but it is very inconvenient.
