  1. Alright, I'll mess with it tomorrow. I didn't push the pedal to the floor as I don't do that usually. I was surprised to hear in normal driving it goes to redline. Does everyone push the pedal all the way or something? lol. Anyway, I'll do a hard acceleration tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks for your reply.
  2. Sorry for the late reply, I have been out of town lately. Anyway, thanks! I look forward to what you find. The only differences I noticed are increased throttle response, different shift points, and a tighter steering. No doubt you've been busy yourself. Thanks again.
  3. I'm just wondering the differences between ECT PWR and NORM for you guys out there. I was reading on another forum and it said that when others put it into "PWR" mode, it constantly redlined the RPMs. My throttle response and shift points don't increase that highly that it goes all the way to redline, in fact, it just raises the shift points by a few hundred RPMs if that. However I didn't do a hard acceleration, just some normal acceleration in city & highway driving. The speed limit on my local roads is 45, and I drive 50. On NORM mode, the RPMs stay below 2000 and shift at ~1900 all the time. With the PWR mode, it shifts at about 2200, way below redline. Maybe I'm just a "slow" driver. I accelerate just about as fast as everyone else though, usually faster. Even when accelerating to toll road speeds (speed limit 75 where I live), the car shifts at about 3000-3500 RPM, again still below the redline. Anyway, I notice steering power assist is reduced (tighter steering), increased throttle response, and higher shift points. I just wanted to hear your experiences with the two modes. Thanks.
  4. Ah... Thanks! At least now I know that there isn't something wrong with the vehicle. Thanks again for the reply.
  5. Lol no one who has an SC knows if their lights flash when they lock and unlock their doors? That's all I was asking lol. And if they do flash, how do I fix mine?
  6. Hello, I have a newly acquired 1997 SC400 and I had just gotten a remote from the dealer since the car came with one "master" key and 3 valet keys. Thankfully, the dealer gave me the remote for free since we are a long time customer, and because they somehow damaged my hood insulator/liner and ordered me a new one for free also so I am grateful for that! Anyway, the lights do not flash when I lock and unlock the vehicle. Is this normal for Lexus/Toyota's of this era? My other Lexus is a 1999 GS300 with the remote & key integrated together and the lights flash when locking/unlocking. This is the only Lexus I have driven that has the older separate remote and key. So I was just wondering if it is normal for cars of this era to NOT flash or is there a blown fuse somewhere? Thanks in advance for your help.
  7. I don't mean to restart an old thread and I apologize in advance if it violates any rules, but I have searched for hours to find the repair/service manual for my SC400 and this is the closest I've come. Does anyone have a working link for the service manual? This thread is a few years old and the link to download no longer works... Thanks in advance for your reply! If it helps, I have a 1997 model year SC400.
