What's a 2J? ← 2j is short for the engine that is in your IS. There are two kinds, NA which is what is in your IS, and the Turbo one that is in a Toyota Supra. You can bolt it in without too much trouble.

I have the same questions. I was going to buy a car that has a "clean" title but has salvage history. Does the factory Lexus warrenty no longer apply because it had a salvage in the history? I was told that once it has a salvage, and its been repaired and restatesd as a clean title, if you transfer the title to a different state, it reads as a clean title?? Any help would be great.

How hard to you think it would be to buy an aftermarket and get it to mount like the factory one, in the top of the dash?

Sweet thanks, So my best bet is to find a totaled one and strip the system out?? Or can it be ordered from somewhere?

I've seen '04 IS's with Navigation on the top of the dash. Is there anyway to get one for an '01 IS so it fits flush in the Dash? Anyone with pictures or links, would be great.
