LOL yea I paid 3.20 for premium. My tank average is like 16/17. IS drivers have pretty heavy foots, that's probably why we bought the 350 lol. I think it's possible to get better gas mileage, but we probably won't.

: Wait....What recall? just went to lexus yesterday due to the second recall..had them fix the speaker grille on the dashboard..plastic was rattling ..evry now and then..loud...they put a new gasket in..fixed it nicely...maybe thats it for you too....dennis

Yea I knew about the 30 second lock feature, and yea I use the black button as well, or I just lock the car from the inside before I get out. No I don't think that noise is coming from a speaker it sounds like a rock hitting the car ( a small pebble ) and I've noticed that others have had the same issue so I was just wondering if anyone knew why. It just happens randomly; most of the time Iam driving and u hear a quick pop, sometimes more than one. And Iam almost 100 percent positive the noise comes from the dash or some where around that area. The only Autolock that I know of... is when you unlock the car... and if you dont open a door in 30 secs.... it autolocks back.... I just usally hit the botton on the door handle to lock the car.... As for the "poping" sound... I have not had this issue with mine... Could it be a speaker? Does it happen all the time... or just now and then?

Hi, has anyone found a reason for that wierd poping sound coming from the dash board ( sounds like a rock hitting ) and has anyone found out how to use the IS 250/350 autolock feature? The sales rep said I could do it, but I still haven't fiqured it out, and I can't find anything in the manuel about it. Thanks, I appreciate your help!!!!!!!!!

Yea true, but I don't think there is any damage, the tow truck guy said there wasn't any. I mean I haven't heard any wierd noises or anything and it drives like normal so....It's all good.

Yea tell me about it lol. Yea, that thought occured to me after I tried the pwr/snow button and I did that and I gave it alot of gas but that just dug me in deeper, I think that if I would have turned it off and pushed one of the buttons in the beggining when my friends tried to push the car out, I probably would have made it out no problem, but by the time that thought had occured to me I was already dug deep. Do you think that the muffler could be damaged? or that it just got pushed up and it realigned itself when the car was pulled out of the sand? They don't seem to be misaligned, they look pretty even.

Today I scared the crap out of myself....I went to play paintball with my friends today and it started to rain so we packed up and left...Or so we thought...I got into the car (I was parked in the grass/sand) and hit the gas, well I got stuck in the sand, (some people pushed but that didn't work) so I tried the power and snow button to maybe get some more power, the car budged but it wasn't enough to push me out...SoI just ended up digging myself deeper in, I got myself stuck in so deep the sand was up to my rear bumper, I thought I damaged my muffler or something because it was so deep. I called the Lexus 24 hour roadside assistence and they came pronto and pulled me out, their quickness was very much appreciated, it's definitly commendable. So they towed me out and I went to a cleaner and got all the sand cleared out, now tommrow I will get it detailed to make sure there are no scraches. There seems to be no damage Thank god!! I cleaned it well, and even drove on the highway no problem, I got VERY lucky!! Is there any kind of damage I should be especially looking for?

I use Prestone wheel cleaner with brake dust repellent, it works as a dsgreaser when your cleaning the car, and then you can add a second coat to prevent brake dust build up, I've been using it for sometime now and it works well.

Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to roll the windows up while only using the key, I know that you can roll them down, but can you roll them back up? And also the keyless unlocking, is is possible to change the settings to unlock the front doors, or all the doors, and not just the drivers side, I remember reading that it was possible, or is it a setting that the dealer has to change? And one final question, the message button when listening to the radio, is it possible to have it say on the radio stations name, or to always show the artis/song title without having to push the message button everytime? I've looked at some pictures of the new IS navigation and it seems that the bottom portion of the center unit ( the cd player area ) is identical to an IS without navigation, would it be possible to have just the top portion ( the navigation ) installed either by someone who knows a Lexus car, or by Lexus themself? But then there is the problem of the steering wheel button for the blue tooth, and the review camera. So is it possible? And if it is possible how expensive would it be? If it's not possible, would it be in the near future when more people become familar with these cars and know how to mod them? Or what are my aftermarket choices/possibilities? Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

uh-oh. I had no idea about that, how bad is it if I've done all of the above? I've sped up pretty quickly and used cruise control, but I haven't done any unnecesary hard braking. Would that cause damage? How would I know? Is that bad? Iam pretty OCD about my car, and know Iam pretty worried lol. Please advise!!

I've read on some other posted topics that you shouldn't accel too fast or brake too fast until a certain amount of miles, why? and is it bad if you do?

When I bought the car the sales rep said that the car would lock itself when I just walked away from the car, so I took his word for it. But I looked in the manuel and I couldn't find anything about it, just that if you unlock the car and don't open a door it will lock itself in 30 seconds. But I do know that when the car is unlocked you can push the black button on the door handle and the doors will lock and the alarm will activate. As for the auto lock function, the sales rep said it was possible but I have no idea how :(.

Is there a way to have navigation installed? Or would you have to replace the whole front dash? I don't really need the navagation but I just wanted to see how much an aftermarket one would cost, or how it would be possible to install it.

I would say between 5.1 and 5.3 seconds for 0-60 depending. But I would go with Lexus' qoute and say 5.3.

The IS 350 is much faster than the Mustang. The top speed on the IS 350 is electronically limited at 140 but 0-60 the IS is much faster, the mustang wouldn't be any competition.

Hi, I have recently been experiencing some wierd viberations on my 93'SC400. It seems that around 45 to 50 miles per hour there are some abnormal viberations that were not there before. I recently had some trouble with the back left tire, but I plugged it. Also on turns the car feels shakey and not like it used to, it is very sensitive to little things in the road. Also I have been told, and I looked myself and I have seen it, the back left tire (the same one that I plugged) the front part of the tire seems to be tiliting inward toward the right. I think that may be the cause of the viberations, could it be?But what can or could have caused the inward shift? And what should I do about it? Is it a serious problem? Another question: I was told that on some cars that the back tires move slightly along with the front ones to give better stability while turning, is this true? And if so does the SC400 have this?

186,000 Everything pretty much runs great, except some lights have burned out and the transmission will need replacing soon. But if these cars are taken care of and all the services have been performed they will last forever.
