  1. Let us know. Got the shade in... first off.. Sewell sent it to my billing address.. so it took me an extra day... :chairshot: On the web site.. it says intro-tech.. even my invoice says intro-tech but they sent me a heatshield... Not sure if it needs to be warmed up a little or what... but right now its about 1" to narrow... also it doesnt fit center... It feels like a nice solid shade if that means something!?? lol going to test it out this weekend and give it a little time... until then I'm holding off on given my $4.99 autozone shade away... :) LOL I See, let's hope it works....I just bought one on ebay...Couldn't wait lol
  2. Yea, I wanted to keep it stock, and I will. My friend was just adament about upgrading...I think he underestimates Lexus...Probably because he spent so much money upgrading his car he feels that the Lexus would need to as well, good thing he's wrong :D The guy in miami drives an IS 350 right? And can anyone confirm the special high friction brakes? It's Meteoro in Miami. He drives a IS350. The stock front brakes are the same size as those from the GS plus 4 piston calipers and high friction pads. SWEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT
  3. AWESOME, congrats on your buy and welcome to the forum!!!!!

  5. It would be just a lapping day...But my friend is trying to talk me into doing autocross which sounds cool....But the begginier stuff not the one where you can crash into walls SO NOT COOL And tare the brake pads a necessity to upgrade?
  6. LMAO true...But it is a race why use the brakes at all :D kidding of course :D
  7. Hey guys I was thinking about taking the IS 350 on a track and running some laps, my friend says that in order to avoid brake fading I would need some R-compound brakes and upgrade the sway bars and some other stuff, is this true? I think the IS would be able to run no problem. What about you?
  8. I use this intro-tech shade which fits very snug. http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetail.asp?...ubCategoryID=34 Cool, it looks great. How would you rate it's performance? I use this intro-tech shade which fits very snug. http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetail.asp?...ubCategoryID=34 I went down and but a $4.99 foil shade from Autozone.. Does it fit nice and snug? nope.. but it does the job... LOL, I thought about it...How does it work? well.. not sure why... but today when I was ordering some touch-paint... I noticed the shipping is all the same.... so I added the sun shade... lmao.. Internet with a Credit Card in your hand = dumb buying... I'll let you know how it works compared to the cheapo!! lol LMAO HA HA HA I know what you mean , and thanks I look forward to knowing how it performs. Did you get the Lexus one or one from a different site?

  10. Hey guys I know this has already been brought up but I couldn't find the thread I was wondering what is a good sun shade (the one to put on the windshield when you leave the car) for the IS 350? Any adivce on prices, brands, and where to get them would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hey do these mats turn yellow after a while? Because I know someone who has the clear ones and now they are all yellow and gross :( Do these turn?
  12. I got my 350 at Sewell Lexus in Ft. Worth, and they tinted my windows the day I bought it, without even my having to ask. I presume it's part of their normal setup on a new sale. Did most of you have to have it done separately? Yes I had mine done speeratly. It was cheaper than doing it at Lexus to.
  13. I just got an IS 350 yesterday with XM and our antenna is on top of the rear deck just next to the center brake light in the rear window. Reception has been fantastic. If you don't mind me asking how much was it?
  14. Why does it have to be over 10 mph? No, it's not bad. It won't let you shift to a gear that would over rev the engine. You might get a little more engine braking than you expected, but it doesn't hurt anything. Ok good to know, thanks.
  15. So I have a question...It's not bad to go from automatic to manuel, or manuel to automatic while driving right?
  16. Ok so one more question :P when VDIM is off does traction control go off with it? Yes it does. You can cut the wheel, hit the gas and spin donuts to your heart's content. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not that I would do that or anything :P
  17. Ok so one more question :P when VDIM is off does traction control go off with it?
  18. Hey guys, so after you turn off the VDIM with the foot dance :P it will ALWAYS come back on after you restart the car.....Right? And how do you know if it is off or not? ALSO when doing the quarter mile is it possible that it will prevent the wheel from spinning and therefor lowering or rather raising your time?
  19. That's pretty much SOP. Doing a little burnout also cleans the tires. However all of those things are going to cause extra wear and tear on all the parts involved. It comes down to how many times you're going to do it. If you haven't raced before, you ought to practice those launches in an open parking lot. Racing the car a few times probably won't cause undue wear. Doing it every weekend will sooner or later make junk out of it. What is SOP?
  20. Yea it would probably be more effective and more cost effective.... I saw something on 20/20 or something about the Phaser... they said it does work.. when its less then 10 feet of the radar.. lol it was a big story... and the end results showed it worked 0 out of 20 times.... Oh well I guess then they will be paying for alot of speeding tickets....Lol and 10 feet is kinda pointless....But it's thanks for posting now I know it sucks lol
  21. On non staggered setup cars they rotate every 5000 miles. O ok, so then you don't really need to do that on the IS, correct?
  22. Not true...I believe only 8 states have outlawed them...Not sure which ones though.... OH OK, I thought they came like radar detectors, one that you can suction cup the windshield....
  23. Sure, anytime. That's what this Forum is here for As for cleaning the tinted windows....The guy said no chemicals and nothing with amonia in it, so I asked "so just diswasher soap and water?" and he goes just water is fine....So I would play it safe and only use water...and if it's really dirty then use a light dishwasher soap. But ask the guy that is going to tint your car and see what he says, Iam sure that's what he will reccomend as well, good luck!!!!!!!!
  24. So would this mess up the car at all, and if so how badly? This is how my friend was trying to tell me to drag race to get better times: while the people in front of you are lining up at the light, put left foot on the brake and floor it(with traction control off) until you get the tires to smoke and then when you are at the light, left foot on brake and give it gas with the right just enough to the point it wants to move and then floor it and release break on the green and u will pull great times tires get hot...they get sticky and you laucnh off the line with more power How bad is this for the tires and any other parts of the car? And would it REALLY improve times THAT much? Thanks for the advice I mean couldn't I just floor is with the power button on? Oh yea and just to make it clear this would be on a track and not on the street.
