  1. hi all if you can remove the engine shrouds, and take out the 12v battery, go to costco or an auto parts store and get a replacement. if you cant do that, go to a competent mechanic,or if you go to the dealer, you pay the $$$ if you do it yourself, you do have to reset the rear windows via the instructions in the manual i think its a common issue on most new cars, my infiniti made me go thru the same "song and dance" to get the power windows to work properly z
  2. hi all i live in san jose, ca, i called stevens creek lexus, and they said to replace the bank of traction batteries is $6500 plus labor after getting over the sticker shock, doing further research, i havent heard of anyone replacing them. my 2006 RX400H has about 190K miles i am going to get another SUV soon, probably a new RX350 or something in that size range z
  3. i dont know if my experience with my 2006 RX400h is related to your issue. when my lexus had around 70k miles, i noticed that the gas mileaged dropped to about 16-18mpg, also there was transmission fluid all over the garage floor. i took it into the local lexus dealer, and they said "bad news, your transmission is broken, good news, its covered under the power train warranty." i guess the transmission degrading caused the significant drop in gas mileage. lexus provided me with a new rx350 for a couple of weeks, as they had to send to canada for a new transmission as the LA warehouse didnt have any. kudos to lexus for a hassle free experience on this issue chris 2006 RX400h AWD
  4. hi fj i used a "rock bottom" rewards card to pry open the changer door, pressed the eject button a couple of times, and used the card (any cc will do) to lift up the cd, and whola! the cd changer spit out the cd repeated the process to get all 6 of them out. so lets see if this fixed the issue (rock bottom is a local micro brewhouse, great beer by the way) so i dont need to spend the $$ for the changer swap out anyway,i wouldnt have spent the $$ to repair it, but would just live with a non-functional changer as my RX is 8 years old kudos to this website for all the sage advice! ch
  5. warmo and lamd my 2006 rx 400h cd player has a full load of 6 cds, and something one cd is jammed i will try lamds suggestion first warmo has a good solution, but it looks rather involved, and very time consuming, but since my car is long out of warranty, and i dont want to pay the dealer big bucks, i might try his suggestion if the simplier technique that lamD suggested doesnt work other comments were to try and pry out the offending cd with a credit card or old cd, and pounding on the dash, i dont think that pounding will do anything except put dents in your dashboard i might try the prying out z
