  1. Is it me or does it sound like everyone whos recently done a tune up encounter this problem. ? So we all screwed up on the tune up or is there a systemic problem occuring with the TPS, hesitation issue on the 90-94 ls400? feed back please :whistles:
  2. i found the kickdown cable but i dont know what is supposed to be "normal" with it. The service guys at lexus said they never heard of it. Tell me how it is supposed to be. I know u can push the button in and out right? how do i check it? thanks buddy
  3. how did you fix the problem? i have that too?
  4. MistaG, did you finally got the problem fixed? what was it?
  5. i cleaned the throttle, checked the tps and changed out the MAF. I dont know where the kickdown cable is. Should i be checking the EGR too?
  6. further details in addition to original post: 94 ls 400. When the car is at a stop or moving very slow, about less then 5 miles.... and then you step on the pedal to accelerate. Thats when it stalls and feels like it is going to die. But if you release the pedal and step slowing the accelerator, it will accelerate slowly. Any attempt to accelerate fast will result in this symtom. even a regular pressure acceleration will have this symtom. Only gentle pedal work will be ok. This happen when reversing but not when in neautral or park. I guess coz the car is not being turned by the motor or in gear. Could it be transmission related? When i accelerate gingerly up to 45 miles and iam in the freeway, and i push the pedal to accelerate, same thing happens, it stalls and wants to die out. But if i let go of the pedal, it wont die out and i have to push pedal gently again to accelerate slowly. thanks all for you help
  7. bump. Did anyone have suggestions or fix on this problem? i am going thru the same thing. I replaced the air mass and it did not fix it. thanks for the feed back.
  8. Hi, I have solved all future problems with this lcd issue. Just like the problems with the cheap capacitors denso used on the instument panels, the lcd on the climate control are controlled by the same capacitors. So just go inside the climate control and change out these capacitors with new ones and it will be good as new. But do it before the lcd is burnt do to the caps failing. Remember: this lcd issue is temp related too---just like the instrument panel. good luck
  9. A local pro shop here sold me a brand new set of leather ( any original color) for 600. It was made to factory spec. great fit. give me the color number and i can check it for you. I just did my seats so i could sell it. Sacrificed 600 but raised my car value by 1700 from the original price coz of new leather and the buyer gladly took it.
  10. email me at ramajon@aol.com . I talked to him and he says he will do it for me for 1,000.
  11. my front seats were wearing out so I bought new ones (wow they were great looking) instead of having them repair with a new section on the seat which would look different from the rest. Cost me $600 but it was very well spent. Included the arm rest, headrest, and the seat of the seat paper holder. Total 10 leather pieces. The original backseat paper holder was made of vinyl. This kit is made of all leather. It took me 5 hours to do the first one (passenger) coz it was the first time. Wow i learned alot about power seats. The second one was only 2 hrs. Now it looks and and feel like iam in a new car. I will include some pics next time.
  12. yeah i know a great place. He is very good! hit me up PM and i will give you the info
  13. It took about 4 hrs--that is because i was cleaning out everything meticulously and i was checking out the air control valve too. But the actual take out was about 1 hr. You dont need to take out radiator. Just take out the air filter and its connection up to the air maniforl. Then take out the resevior. There 4 screws total. Take out the belt by loosening the tensioner. then theres 4 more screws holding the pump in. They are on tight so use an extension with the rachet. It will drip some so use a catch.
  14. I need help from someone who have already replace or rebuild their ps pump. I rebuild mine today. Filled it up and turned on engine. WOW--it was very noisy and squelling. Freaked me out. I turned the engine off. Is this normal since air is in the system? Lots of air in fluid too. Iam afraid of damaging something. Please tell me what you did to bleed out the air ( besides turning it back and forth) and if that inital noise will go away. I just hope it is not a sign of damage! thanks pro's.
