I got my G400 about 4 months ago and I love it. It was a 99 with 64k miles, spoiler, nakamichi sound system. The car is an absolute blast, and makes for a very reliable and sound purchase. The ride is very smooth. Days before I got the car I drove my friends Mercedes Benz 430 sedan, no comparison, I find that the lexus surpasses it in nearly every case, especally on the road which is truly important in my book. Prepare to become accostomed to what my friend like to call the slingshot effect. Push down on the gas and you'll feel the V8 spring to life and gently slide your bum into the back of the seat. 60mph wooshes by and before you know it your easly surpassing 80. In my opinion a car should relialbe, safe, fun to drive and the Gs400 has all of those traits (especially the fun to drive ) Good luck with your new car and hope this helps ;) ~ Ignition

I believe the wheels must be premium. Most of the ones I see aren't really shiny, but still look very refined and classy

Thanks for the answer. I was also wondering which would result in a quicker 0-60 time, using automatic, the e-shift, or manually putting it through the gears. My original belief was e-shift, but I'm not 100% sure I was also wondering if you had any idea how much of a boost the power button gives you when it is pressed. Thanks B)

Kind of a newbie question, but couldnt find the answer anywhere else so here we go. I was just curious as to why the the e-shift only goes down to 2. Is it really in 2nd or does it do it first automatically, if so then why? Doesn't borther me, just curious Thanks

Im a biology major in my second year of school, was originally looking at physician assistant, but now am very interested in wild life and cellular photography. During the summer I work at a nature center in Kiawah Island SC.

I am the proud owner of a 1999 GS 400. I got it back in Septmber for my 20th birthday. It is in perfect shape, had 1 other owner besides me and been garage kept. For Christmas my grandparents got me a K&N airfilter that I just put on this morning. Deifinetly notice a little bit of improvement especially during acceleration. This summer while I'm working I plan to save up and put on a cold~air intake and some type of exhaust. Nothing way loud, just something to serve up that juicy rumble that I know is in there Also possibly some new 18" rims as well. So far no problems whatsoever, except that the local 55mph speed limit seems to alot slower than it used to. Below is a picture of my car the day I got it, will add more soon.

Hi, saw this website and couldnt stop reading the articles. I just got my first Lexus in September of this year, it is a 1999 Gold GS 400. I am totally in love with this machine. It is quite a change from my 2001 Civic EX coupe, which was my first car. Im very new to using forums "this being my first one", so I had an Idea for a post. In just the few months of owning my car I could write a list a mile long about how much I enjoy driving it.
