Thanks.. I didn't leave any lights on.. Unless there were other leaks that the dealer would charge me a ton to diagnoze.. I am hoping LS are reliable cars..

It is the original battery.. I am surprised it would last only 50k miles. On the other hand, i would be happy if it is just the battery and not an expensive repair.. Thanks to all..

Hi- My 05 LS430 has 53,000 miles on it. Today morning when I tried to start the car, it did not. It was not completely dead - It gave a "tuk tuk tuk tuk.." sound as if it was trying hard, but it did not start. I did not try doing anything with it after that. The last time I drove it was Sunday evening and it was perfectly fine.. What do you guys think is the problem ? I didn't try jump starting it. -Ganesh

Hi All, I recently purchased an 05 LS430 with 52k miles. Mechanically and Electronically the car is in good shape - except for this part assistance. When I switch it on, it says "check sonar" and points to the center sonar on the rear bumper. When I investigated it further, it looked like one particular sensor in the rear bumper had cracks around the edge of its attachment to the bumper. My question is 1. Can I still use the park assist -- is there any way to turn off that message and continue to use the park assist ? 2. Should I have to replace the whole bumper or can I just replace that sensor ? Any idea how much it could cost ? Thanks in advance for the help..

Thanks.. I get amazing help from this website... So looks like this front and rear radar detectors are also after market.. At the expense of sounding ignorant, can I ask if I should be concerned about having these kind of things in the car ? Would these modifications cause reliability problems later ?

Thanks ScottMcc.. No offense to anyone -- I hate aftermarket modifications.. Would I be able to go to a Lexus dealer and have all the crap removed and put the original "box" back in ? More importantly should I be worried ? I also noticed this little black box on the edge of the trunk, above tail lights.. Does anyone know what is this one ?

Could anyone please tell me what is this "black mesh" like thing on the auxiliary box in the dash (above the seat heat/cool controlling knobs) ? I am very interested in buying this used '05 LS430. I haven't seen this car yet, but I am thinking of putting a deposit to hold the car. I just want to make sure that this not a cheap and horrible aftermarket modification.. Thank for your help...

Hello I have a 1999 lexus ES300 with 77,000 miles on it. Recently when I start the vehicle for the first time in the morning (cold start, dosen't matter winter or summer) and put the vehicle from park to drive, it jumps/jerks and starts to run smoothly. It happens only on the very first time I start the vehicle. It jumps less in summer and more in winter. It happens only for the first transmission change. Immediatly after that if I change back to P and then to D again, it doesn't jump/jerk. Have any of you encountered this problem? I appreciate any help on this. Is it safe to live with or should I go to a dealer to check it out? My local Lexus dealer is very expensive..
