  1. I have a 2005 RX330 without NAV. The outside temperature display seems to read about 4 - 5 degrees warmer than it actually is. Has anyone noticed this and does anyone know if there is a way to calibrate it?
  2. I have had my '05 RX330 for about 2 weeks now... today when I went to start it in the garage, I noticed a loud humming coming from under the hood when the key is in the "on" position (the position just before start). It seems to be from the front near the base of the radiator. This may in fact be normal, but since I have only driven it twice, I never noticed it before. If you have an '05 RX and have a few minutes, could you open the hood and turn the key to ignition (with the engine NOT running) and see if you hear a humming noise from under the hood, and post your findings here? Thanks!
  3. I just bought an '05 RX330 with Premium Plus but without NAV. Those buttons are not the same as they show in my manual either. Not sure why and salesman had no idea either.
  4. I just picked up my 2005 RX330. After I got it home, I noticed that on the drivers side where the left front fender and the plasitc front bumper meet, it is not even. There is a section about one inch long where the plastic "bulges" out and is not even with the metal fender. I went back to the dealer to look at the other '05's that were on the lot, and to my surprise, there were others with the same problem. But it was odd, it seemed to only be on the light colored cars (Silver, Bamboo, Gold) I was curious if anyone else with a 2005 RX330 has noticed the same thing? Or if you haven't, could you take a look and see if it is like that? Thanks!
  5. That is 100% normal operation for the transmission. It will not shift into the highest gear until it comes up to a certain temperature.
  6. I have a 2005 RX330 with The Premium Plus Package and I do NOT have lumbar support on the passengers side seat. To the best of my knowledge, the RX330 does not offer that at this time.
  7. Bartkat, Were you wondering the price of my RX? If so, it was: 2005 RX330 with Premium Plus NO Nav $38,400 I went to Lexus of Watertown in Mass - they were awesome! Did 99% of it online and over the phone - they have a brand new facility with all indoor vehicle storage.
  8. The only differences between an '04 and an '05 RX that I am aware of are what you have mentioned: Adaptive Front Headlights Voice Recognition Navigation Not even sure about the passengers seat if that is a change or not I just bought an '05 this past weekend - love it so far.
  9. It really depends on whether or not you think you will actually USE the navigation function. I have a Toyota Highlander with nav (essentially the same system as the RX - as you know Toyota and Lexus are one in the same) I waited an extra month to get the one WITH the navigation becuase I wanted it so badly - now I would do anything to go back and get one WITHOUT it. Everyone has a different opinion, but this is mine: The map and all the other features were fun to look at for about 3 weeks. I think I have actually needed to use the map only once. As it stands now, the things that irritate me about having it are that you have to hit the "I Agree" button EVERYTIME you start the car before you can use the mapping and anytime you push a button on OR off the screen (temp control, settings, etc), it makes an annoying beep (this may or may not be the same in an RX, but I recall trying one at the dealer and it was the same) The back up camera is a different story. This may actually be something that you could use and may help you avoid an accident at some point. If your reason for getting the navigation was strictly because you think it will be "neat" to have, then don't do it. If you actually think you have a need for it to find the locations of things or if you take trips alot, then the $2K is worth it. If you have any other questions, you can e-mail me at JohnJCronin@aol.com
  10. I found the solution yesterday..... I bought an RX330 WITHOUT navigation. Now everytime I start the car, I do not have to press "I AGREE"! ...but in all seriousness, I have Navigation in my Toyota Highlander (very similar system to RX), and it is a royal pain in the neck. Also, the beeping sound anytime I press ANY button is fairly annoying also. This was one of the main factors in my decision to get the RX without the navigation.
  11. I would suggest going with the Lexus OEM hitch. I have not seen another hitch that looks correct on an RX. The reason for the bracket that drops below the muffler is that when they redesigned the RX and came out with the RX330 with the 3.3L motor, from what I was told the muffler size changed and the old style hitches would no longer fit. The Lexus hitch is proportional on both sides - at first it looks a little strange, but I really like it now.
  12. To all of the RX330 owners out there - how do you like it? Let us know if you Like or dislike your RX and why? Good points and bad... This will help prospective buyers make a more informed decision. Thanks for the feedback!
  13. I was wondering if anyone with a RX330 has had the original equipment Lexus Tow Hitch installed? If so, have you towed anything and how does it handle a trailer?
  14. I have been reading that some owners are experiencing dash and/or headliner rattles from the interior of RX330's. I was interested in getting feedback from current RX330 owners as to whether or not they have run into these problems, or if it has just affected a few here and there. Also, what about the "road noise" problems that are being reported with the front windows. Thanks for any feedback! B)
  15. I will be taking delivery of a 2005 RX this weekend. I was looking for feedback from current RX330 owners as to how they like it and what if any problems they have encountered and if there is anything that I should look out for. Thanks!
