  1. I'm looking to get a set of wind deflector for LX450, since there are two type of them, one goes inside and other use the adhesive tape, I would appreciate to hear some feedback from who has done it or has some information about them, and where I can buy them, I look around but I seem not to be able to find a place who sales them for LX450.

    thanks

    Thanks a lot, very informative.

  3. I haven't heard of anyone using the on-board cell phone.  Most times people ask how to remove it.

As for the phone itself, I think it's analog -- wouldn't you need to find a service provider with analog phone service?  Remeber, the phones were installed in 1996-97.  Cell technology has come a long way since then -- you might be better off with a newer phone.

I understand your point, and I think I should have explained myself a little bit better, what I'm looking for to do is, has any body find a way to use your own phone instead of Lexus phone? I don't want to remove the whole kit, just the Lexus hand set.

and using the handset free system, with my cellphone.

I know for sure that its possible, but I thought I could use some other people experience, not to mess with it. I just have to find the right diagram for it, I used to be a phone tech, so I'm kind of familiar with whole concept, I know the wires go to the car's computer, but that can not prevent you of using your own phone, as I said before it is quite possible.

Well I guess I have to take my old phone's tools out once more to figure it out.

  4. isn;t their a knob to turn on yours?

on (liek my 94)or under the right side dash above the drivers leg( newer 02 )

As far as I know LX450 doesn't have a knob for that matter, you can turn the buzzer off and on by remote.

  5. I searched and found out that I'm not the only one with chirping device problem.

I went to Lexus dealership for service and talked to a tech about my problem and when I went to pick up my car he told me it does not have the part and I have to order it,

I know it used to chirp, so I need to know that where is located, so I can figure it out he just wanted to charge me for nothing or somehow its been lost.

    thanks

  6. I was searching and came cross this http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...=1550&hl=buffer

so it got me thinking that what kind of buffer do I have? here is a picture of it, and wodering that just by looking at it you could tell  its rotary or not, I turn it on and it shaks a lot.

That looks like a typical "waxmaster" orbital buffer. With clean terry pads, that's fine to use to apply and remove wax.

Thank you, it was a shame if I had to put it away, I have it for years but never used it.

  7. Naa the craftsman buffer isn't going to have enough power to do anything but apply waxes. As for the cutting pad, I'm not quite sure what your question is about that...

For purchasing the products I wouldn't buy them from Meguiars, you can find all the products listed there through www.lexuscarcare.com or www.properautocare.com

I was just wondering that how or when you use cutting pad, and about Meguiar's, I've notice that you say

"Some sort of paint cleaner like Meguiars #9, #82 Swirl Free Polish, 1Z Paint Polishes (which work very well by hand)

-Some sort of polish like Meguiars #7, P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser, #81 Hand Polish from Meguiars."

the thing is I checked Meguiar's web site and they don't listed by numbers, so if I go to an auto store like Pepboys, can I find a product that says on it for example Meguiars #7, or these numbers are some sort of terms that only pro use and underestand it.

This buffer I have, says on it "3100 RPM no-load-speed" is it any good?

thanks a lot for your time.

  8. Hello every body

I'm new here and have some questions.

What is the best wax? j/k I could find everything possibly I need for detailing here, but there are some thing that I couldn't figure it out, and that is you guys talk about Meguiar's by number like #1, I found a lot of tips in that post "Pinned: What Should I Do First?" I check Meguiar's web site and they didn't list them by number, so could you please let me know what they mean?

another thing is about claying, do I have to clay in one strike or I can go back and forth?

How the cutting pad works? I've never heard or seen anybody works with it, so its very new to me.

I have a Craftsman buffer polisher, that I've got it years ago and never even used it, I know you guys recommend PC, but I have this one right now , and that'd be nice if I could use it at leat for once :D

    thanks
