  1. Thanks! You would think that the manufacturer would do that when they make the car. How much can that cost? I read somewhere where a guy did that with a Tacoma. It seems to be a common Toyota problem. Do you know how to get the wipers off without breaking them? I am always worried about doing more damage than good when I do a repair job for the first time. Thanks again, & Merry Christmas! Bill
  2. Does anyone know where the cabin air intake is located on a 2005 es330? I had a red squirrel set up winter quarters in my cabin filter compartment and blower motor assy. I just removed about 4 lbs of nesting material and 4 nuts about the size of walnuts from the compartment. He also ate through the filter and used it as part of the nest. I hate to replace the filter only to have him move back in so I would like to stuff some wire mesh in the air intake to thwart is efforts. If that doesn't work. I will get a cat and have him move into my car for the winter. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill from Ma
  3. Does anyone know how to access the blower motor of a 2005 ES 330. The fan makes a loud vibrating sound when I turn up the fan motor speed. I have a feeling that a mouse got in there and made a nest. I looks like getting into it involves dismanteling the center console and part of the dash board. Any help to as to how to do it would be greatly appreciated. I can't imagine what the dealer would charge to do this. Thanks, Bill bfoley56@comcast.net
  4. I own a 2005 ES 330 that I bought new. It has been a great car but lately I've noticed that the side mirrors won't go up or down anymore. Since neither mirror goes up or down, I've ruled out the motors. The common component is the up/down control switch. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was the fix and cost? Also, The alloy wheels have been corroding over the past few years. It started out very gradually after the car was a little over a year old. It happened so slow that I didn't make an issue of it. But last year I checked with Lexus and they said that I would have to buy new wheels since the car is out of warranty. I also read that in '05 they changed the wheel plating process and it had some problems. If this is true, why should the customer be left holding the bag for their engineering mistakes. Also, why would Lexus want one of their later model cars being seen with the wheels rotting off? I thought Lexus prides itself on it's fit and finish image.
  5. I've had my ES 330 for about a month. Everything appears to be OK but I'm having trouble getting my voice navigation to understand my voice commands. I will say "HOME" and it will respond with something unrelated. Is there a learning mode for the system? I know there is one for me. The manual is a little sketchey about its operation. Thanks, Bill from MA
