  1. My wife and I are expecting twins, and we have a 17 month old as well right now. She currently drives a new RX330, and we need to move on to another vehicle because you cannot fit 3 car seats across the rear bench. So, we are considering an LX470, but still a little concerned that things will be tight back there. Does anyone out there currently have an LX470 with 3 car seats in that has any advice? Too bad Lexus hasn't come out with their own version of the Sienna..... Thanks, DMW
  2. Before I bought my GX, I was lucky enough to test drive it with a bunch of on snow on the ground. The dealer directed me to an unplowed parking lot where the depth was 2'+. The GX was fantastic in every aspect. I fact, after I left the dealer I went back to the lot in my (ex) X5, and got stuck to the point where I had to play around between F and R to rock myself into traction again. I almost considered calling AAA at one point b/c I thought I was stuck. I was pretty much sold at that point on the GX as a much better vehicle in a New England winter. DMW

Sounds encouraging, I might just have to print out the whole string and bring it to the dealer. Thanks, DMW

DMW, I had to fight with the dealer to aggree that there was a problem. Do not let them use that "spec" line. You should not be able to tell the truck is leaning by looking at it from behind. ← TexGX, The dealer fully agreed that the GX was "leaning" and that there was nothing they could do. I didn't like that answer so I went to the service mgr and my sales rep. Eventually, they put me in touch with Lexus cust service, they are the ones that ultimately told me there is nothing "wrong" with the car because it is within spec. ← DMW, I will let you know if the hieght sensors fix the problem so you can use me as an example. It is amazing that different dealers can get different results. ← Thanks, I look forward to hearing some good news!

  6. The DVD can be seen on the front monitor only when the GX is in park AND the parking brake is set (the hand brake). Once you do that, the "Picture" button is usable when you are on the Audio screen.

TexGX, Did having the height sensors replaced do anything? DMW

My 2004 with KDSS leans left. After speaking/arguing with the dealer, I was put in touch with Lexus cust service that told me that they are aware of the leaning in some vehicles, that is does not affect performance, and that it is withing their "spec" if the leaning is less than 1/4" either way (I believe that was the measurement, but it could be 1/2 or 1/8). In any case, I was with in the "spec" and there was nothing that could be done. I have had the car since 3/04, and other than the annoyance of seeing the unbalance, I have not noticed any performance issues.
