  1. Both really. Here's the thing. I do not know what part needs replacing because I have not figured out how to remove the cup holder without taking out the whole center console. There must be an easier wy to go about this, but I am unaware at this moment. I am thinging about just trying to superglue the broken piece back into place and then putting everything back together, if that is possible. Any help would be GREATLY appreiciated. Dave
  2. I have been waiting for something, anything in the form of advice or possibilities. The only solution I can see is finding one at a salvage yard.
  3. Does anyone know how to replace the arm rest drink holder in a 99 es300? Thanks
  4. Just purchased mine(99 es300, 103K) a 1 1/2 months ago for 9950. Outstanding condition. If it what you can live with and it is what you want for the price you are able to live with, then it should not really matter what others will think. As far as being taken advantage of, be aware of the service costs that are coming up as well as how it will depreciate. If it is excellent, 11,175 Kelly Blue Book Black Book is what a number of dealers use for trade in purposes and this is what your car scored: Black Book® Online pre-inspection trade estimate... 1994 LEXUS 300 4D SEDAN $3,455 - $5,620 Price accurate until: January 01, 2005 . Black Book Online Then there is the NADA site. Used cars area a crap shoot. Cars depreciate and should not be viewed as investments, therefore be satisfied with what you are doing before you hand over the money. My opinion, 94 is a little older than I would buy, unless I was in love with the style. Grace & Peace
  5. I have a 1999 es300 and am trying to find out whether or not I have a Nak stereo or if it is another type. How will I know one way or another? I have looked around the forum and have not had any luck. Also, from what I read in my manual it too left me wondering. Thanks in advance. Grace & Peace, Dave
  6. ES300 1999 103000 miles 3rd owner $9950, Dallas, TX Have owned it for one month without really any problems. Made the mistake of filling up with the motor running and set off the TRAC and CEL lights. Just bought a left blinker bulb, $2.99(for 2 bulbs) Was certified at a Dealership in Ft. Worth, Sewell Lexus Also bought an extra CD cartridge for net cost of $6 on ebay. Bought 3 for $36 +S/H($10), sold 2 for $40 +S/H. Thinkin about a nav system. Too rich though 34 and $379.10 eveery 6mo.
  7. Follow-up: Went to autozone and the obd code was po420. The guy said I ahd a bad cat. My issue is that this happened right after I filled up. How do I know if I did something to the gas cap, if it is because I filled up while the motor was running, b/c I topped off the tank or because I drove it close to empty? Just bought the car from a group in Addison. I am thinking about calling them this afternoon. Would love to hear the thoughts of the forum. Need to add another bit. Called a Lexus mechanic, told him the story and he told me to go to Autozone and clear the code. Disconnecting the battery is a temp fix, but it will come back.
  8. Army, you wrote, "if the codes are unrelated ot O2 sensors or catalytic cconverters (most likely they are) then the dealer should cover it. the only reason they wouldnt cover it if related to cats or 02's is becauce filling up while running CAN (not usually, but once in a while) damage these components." Does this mean that they cover it at their loss? I just purchased the es 300 a month ago and am just now finding out about some epa settlement. From what I have read on other posts, it relates to up to 1998, and mine is a 99. I am going to autozone this am.
  9. Short time luker, first time poster. Here's the deal, last week I was filling up my ES 300, new to me, while keeping the engine running. To make matters worse, I drove it almost to empty. WEll, needless to say, the CEL and TRAC Off lights came on. After checking out the posts here, I unhooked the battery and hooked it back. The lights were gone, but yesterday they came back. My thinking is I triggered something while filling up with the motor running, or running it too close to empty. Is there anything I can do, short of dropping a pretty sum to the dealership? Two ther things, first, is there an enhanced waranty settlement for the 1999 es 300? Also, I would ask if there is a good mechanic near Lake Livingston, in TX. I have family who use JP IMPORTZ. Thanks in advance Grace & Peace.
