  1. Hi everyone - I am a new member of this community and would appreciate any feedback I can get from the group. A month ago, my 2007 IS 250 broke down on the freeway due to waterpump failure which broke the gasket which in turn broke the engine. The whole car is dead, and I cant even open the door using the battery powered key. The Lexus dealership said it will need a brand new engine. I was at 71k and the warranty expired at 70K and I do not have an extended warranty. Lexus Goodwill Warranty helped with the expense. The engine has been ordered and I am scheduled to get my car back in a week. I would like to get any feedback from the group as to what I should watch for when I get my car back. I was told I should request a new engine mount to help with the vibrations. Is there anything I should be asking the dealership to do? I am not sure what is included in a "new engine". Do I need to drive the car differently in the first few miles? How will a new engine affect the rest of the car, ie electrical, wheel balance etc...? What do I need to check for once I drive that car out of the dealership? I appreciate any feedback I can get. I am not a car person but after this expereince, I am sure I am on way to becoming one. Thank you!
