  1. Guys take it easy! Now back to the problem. If you smell something sweet that is coolant. Are you losing coolant? Check the A/C drain plug? I have seen a couple of times, the sunroof drain tube broke and leak also. Let us know how it goes. Have fun. JPI
  2. Here are some basic knowledge about 02 sensors. There are 3 sensors on the ES300: Bank 1 sensor 1, Bank 2 sensor 1 and Bank 2 sensor 2. Location of the sensors: Two sensors on the exhuast manifolds and one more behind the cat converter. Which one is which? Bank 1 sensor 1 is the located by the fire wall, Bank 2 sensor 1 is the one on the front. What are their jobs? Bank 1 sensor 1 and Bank 2 sensor 1 called the A/F(air/fuel) sensor. It measures the amount of air/fuel coming out of the exhuast manifold. These A/F sensor will send the signals your main ECU, The ECU will control the injectors(speed them up or slow them down). 02 sensor located bethind the cat converter, it measure the performance of your cat converter. One last thing, Never trust anyone at autozone diagnost your vehicle. They are not certified and never have any training. Please spend some money have qualified tech work on your Lexus. I hope I clear something up. JPI

  8. So there is still water in the tank? That could be one of the reason why the car run rough. Why would you weld the tank when there was fuel in there? A bomb was about to blow. I would remove the fuel pump, exam all your connection. Remove the old fuel and put in fresh one. JPI
  9. The EGR is stuck open. I would replace the entire EGR valve. Please use new lexus part. Typical problem on V6. JPI
  10. How is your cap and rotors? Fuel pressure? Crank and cam sensors wave? Have a qualify lexus tech check this vehicle out before you spend money on parts that you don't need! JPI
  11. Look like theydidn't fix the problem 1. Check engine light shouldn't be on when you get the vehicle back. I've seen a couple times tech ruin the 02 sensor when R&R transmission. 2. Make sure they put the check ball back into the tranny otherwise the tranny will shift or engage harsh in low speed. Also check your throttle cable make sure it's not cut or bend. 3. Like I said in the first post. Rebuilding this tranny is not a walk in the park. There are about 8 hard lines on this tranny and they can switch it around. Good luck. JPI
  12. I would use the wiring harness from your lexus. Transfer the oil pan over and you set to go. JPI
  13. No need to post, unless you just wanna show it off, as we've all seen the engine B) ← Please post the pix , Then we will have seen the engine !!!! ;) ← The GE is nowhere near the GTE. The head is totally differenty, rods, pistons and oil squiters. He is excited seeing a 2jz? JPI
  14. I think the closest Sewell Lexus is in Dallas, Texas. It appears no one has any recommendations for Austin, Texas. I would hate to have my car taken to a dealer for this knowing I could get a quality job done elsewhere at a much lower price. Anyone, please??? ← If you can make it to Dallas, We can save you some money! JPI
  15. Now we're talkin'!!!!! :snoooorrrtttt: you gonna put the strut bar back or will it not fit now? steviej ← How many PSI are you running? I hope you have the bottem end beef up! JPI
  16. Lexus have the rebuilt PSP kit for $15. They used to offer this service but after many rechecks and upset clients. They stopped it in 2000, at least Parkplace Lexus did. The success rate on this is 7 to 10. It's very time consuming and many special tools are needed. The hardest part about the rebuilt is to make sure you have the vanes back in it orginal position. Otherwise, it will make a lot of noise. We trust lexus parts and that is the only thing we put on our client's car! Autozone parts are lifetime warranty but you will have to replace 4 or 5 times before getting a right or good part. JPI
  17. Who is the one will be doing your tranny job? I've seen many tranny fail again after the rebuild. These tranny aren't easy ....We've rebuild a couple of them and it's not a walk in the park. Make sure you get a written warranty. JPI
  18. Don't forget to change out the cam and crank seal while you are at it. Cam seal start to leak around 60k miles. JPI
  19. How come I wasn't invite to party? Josh, What is going on? :P JPI They don't know how it makes that much hp though...still a bit of a secret!! Yep...the pool was definantly kick !Removed! with all of the rocks and jacuzzi!! B) ←
  20. You can use there supra unit and it will fit just like your sc. They are different part number. We also offer bushings replacements for upper and lower control arms for $200. JPI
  21. you will not see any cracks on the drive belt from the back. the cracks are on the other side were the ribs are. you have to get in there with a flash light and check the face were it bends back across a pulley. a belt will look new from the back but could be ready to fail. also that cheep belt fails and it will leave you stranded. no water pump and no alternator does not let you get very far. ← the serpintine belt runs the water pump on te Gen II? i thought it was the Timing Belt?? ← All lexus water pump driven by timingbelt. Drivebelts do crack and it's suggested that you replace them when doing the t/b and water pump job. $265 for a 90k? Wow that is really cheap! What did they do for the 90k service? If you don't mind the drive to dallas here is my email jpimportz@yahoo.com. We will have a loaner ready for you. JPI
