  1. Please keep the Lexus inside. Nobody wants to take the civic. :P JPI
  2. All you need are the contacts inside. They sell kits on ebay. Try this link, and query the seller to see if he knows which one fits your car. You may have to pull the starter and open it up to find out which ones you have. There are several variations. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33576 ← The starter soleniod is about $25, but I would strongly advise you to replace the whole starter. I'm sure you know how long it takes to pull out the intake manifold. Fix it right the first time. JPI
  3. This knock only occur when you first started up the car? JPI
  4. Remove the flexplate cover, stick a big big pry bar in there to keep the engine from spinning. And there you have it JPI
  5. If they add the Ls430, it will win again. I've driven these vehicles above, they are nothing compare to our Ls430...... JPI
  6. Is this the rack and pinion? Why do we have to grease it? JPI
  7. JP and cruznroadking, bare with dickholy, this thread is actually a continuation of a previous thread he had posted. Bank 2 Sensor 1 was mistakenly switched out initially because of a misinformed AutoZone employee. The good sensor was discarded and not retrievable. A second sensor was purchased and I am guessing now that it was put in the Bank 1 Sensor 2 spot and not the Bank 1 Sensor 1 spot. steviej ← Yeah, I wouldn't trust anyone at autozone diagnost your vehicle. So the problem is resolved? JP Importz
  8. Why would you replace both sensor? The manual never said anything about replacing 2 sensor. You need to find out the exact problem. Don't just swap parts and expect to fix your problem! JP Importz
  9. If the car overheat then it will overheat. Are you sure the dealership monitor the vehicle closely? JP Importz
  10. Here is the answer to your problem. Code 12 is RPM Circuit Signal 1. The distributor in the Engine Control system contains three pick-up coils (G1, G2 and NE), The G1 and G2 signal informs the ECM of the standard crank angle, The NE signals informs the ECM the crank angle and the engine speed. Trouble area -Open or short in GE and GE circuit -Distributor -Open or short in STA circuit -ECM Diagnostic Chart -Check the resistance of each pickup coils in the distributor. If it's NO GOOD replace distributor -Check wires for open in harness between distributor and ECm -If it's NO GOOD replace or repair harness -Check for air gap. If it's NO GOOD replace distributor Code 21 is your main 02 circuit or main 02 sensor. I would suggest to have lexus check out this problem. JP Importz
  11. You should have told us. We could get you the lights in 5 days. Enjoy the lights steve. They are sexy. JP Importz
  12. Did you check the ATF? JPI ← i checked the fluid and it looked a little low, so i topped it off, about a cup or so of fluid. it is shifting better, but even when it was low, i couldnt get it to slip after that initial start after sitting for awhile...i couldnt make it slip no matter how hard i tired...i put the ECT on and punched it down the street...went all the way to 50 (wonjt say where, just that it was deserted road..speed limit 45) and smooth as ever. i mean i literally FLOORED it. spun the tires and everything... i wonder where its leaking from?? shouldnt be the pan, just had that done by you in december... the plug is tight...there is no fluid coming out of the visible seals or the axle shaf holes...leaking from input shaft and mixing with motor oil from RMS? feel free to call me @ home ( the 817-485-xxxx number) jason... BTW jason, check this out: http://lexuslovers.com/gallery/albums/albu...02367.sized.jpg the source of my pull...i cant believe you missed that LOL. ← Josh, I would check your ATF again. Low ATF will do exactly just like this. BTW, I was pretty happy after fixing the overheating problem and did overlook the tire. I will out of town tomorrow for the race. Call me if you need any help. How is the door? JP Importz
  13. Yes checking valve clearances manually is a bit expensive labor wise and one way to save money is to have the clearances checked when the timing belt is changed because the labor needed to perform both tasks is, in part, dupicated. ← This is not true. Checking valve clearance doesn't require removing the timingbelt. Valve clearance job will cost around $350-$500. It does take time. JP Importz
  14. oh and i need to add that the Instructions and photos came partly from Autozone.com. i will link if nessecary. just wanted that to be said so we arent infringing on any copyrights. ← I will have to check my nails lol JPI
  15. Good job Josh! I will need these instruction when I do your brakes next time JP IMPORTZ
  16. Do you have any code? How is the tranny fluid look like? Dirty? JPI
  17. Sk, This is cool, but you have to replace the filter quite often. How about an external cooler? You can get one for $50. JPI
  18. Did the toyota actually flush it? When I say flush it means it they hook it up the machine and do a complete flush. Flushing the tranny is not a bad thing but there is a chance of clogging the valve body and some other components. BTW, there are three magnets on the bottom of your transmission pan. They collect all the shaving. Like I said I don't have enough facts to support my conclusion but I don't want to pay 4k for a tranny and an upset client! JP Importz
  19. Lexus and Toyota used to flush the tranny. But transmission failure would appear after the flush, so they are no wonder flush the tranny. Flushing the tranny would clog the valvebody and such. I'd discuss this issue with Lexus engineer and said the samething. If you go into the lexus/toyota dealership ask them for a flush and they would say "NO". There aren't many hard facts to back this up but I wouldn't flush my client's tranny. I don't want to pay 4k for a tranny. JPI
  20. Make sure you don't strip the lines. You will know what i mean JPI
  21. its under the air filter box. have fun! :D ← Josh, Have you change it out yet? JPI
  22. I got this car second hand and since then I've been using regular. 87 octane gas. ← I'm questioning about his ability diagnost the problem. All he does is swapping parts and hope for the best. If he has a scanner he can active test all the shifting solenoids. There are 4 soleniods total. Did he make sure all the connection are plug in? Check power from the ECU? Does this guy have any certification? On the 02 sensor he all need is looking at the datas from the scanner. People tend to damage the 02 sensor when doing transmission replacement. He should step up and give you another one. Keep us updated. JPI
  23. Please post your codes and datas. We need further datas to help you on this problem. Thank you. JPI
