  1. Unfortunately, no... 55K miles.. warranty expired about 6 months ago. -- Eric
  2. I have got a very wierd problem, and wondered if anyone else had experienced it. A couple weeks ago, when I started my car, the radio wouldn't turn on. It does power on and I can set the station, but no sound comes out, and the volume control doesn't work. And if I go into the Audio->Sound menu, it doesn't allow any of the settings there to be changed. It seems like it doesn't know that it has any speakers. The navigation voice still works, but no other sound, including the "beep" when you press buttons. It intermittently will just start working, but I haven't been able to determine what causes it to start or stop working. Any ideas?
  3. Where did you install the mic and button? I've just found out that this is possible and am interested in the best place to install these.
  4. Purchased new 2004 ES330 in Dec '03 for $35K from Rohrich Lexus in Pittsburgh, PA. Mark Levinson Sound/DVD Navigation package Stability control And the other options that come with these... Car is now 11 months old with about 11K miles on it.. Have had no problems whatsoever with the car and have had nothing but maintenance items (first 2 done by dealer for free, subsequent will be done my me or by jiffylube). I have been very happy with the features of this car. The details that Lexus pays attention to are what sold me on it. I especially love the automatic wipers, mirror dimming, remote window opening, and sunshade. My only complaints are: - Nav system "Agreement" screen every time car started - Transmisison sluggish - Cup holders not "tight" enough to hold cans or tall cups I recently found out that the Nav system supposedly can accept a microphone and will do voice recognition.. still researching this. Also, confused on whether this nav system does bluetooth?
  5. So, how did this turn out? Any pictures of where you mounted the button? Also, is this the same kit available at http://l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=1441
  6. The letter states clearly that this update is for 2004 through early 2005 models. The reason for the free update is multiple "anomalies" in the accuracy of the system. Apparently, the 2004 version was less accurate than the 2003 version, so they're updating us at no cost. I haven't yet called Lexus or a dealer to find out the details... The 2004 models (at least the model I have) have the DVD in the dash, not the trunk.. Nothing to unscrew or take apart, just hit the "open" button on the face. I have a 2004 ES330 with Mark Levinson Audio/Navigation package which I purchased in Dec of 2003.
  7. I got a letter from Lexus a few days ago which stated that the 2004 models of the Nav system can get a free one-time upgrade... Offer good through Dec 2005.. It says the dealer will need about an hour to do the upgrade... I thought it was just a matter of inserting a new DVD.. why would it require a dealer at all? This raises 2 questions for me: 1. Will the upgrade be more than just the map info itself?? Will it also upgrade the hardware to the same as the newer versions which have the voice recognition? 2. Would it be better to wait until late-2005 to do this, since the offer is valid through then? Maybe to get the latest-and-greatest software version?
