  1. Does anyone know the load capacity of the stock '04 GX roof rack's rails? Do I need after-market rails to carry a kayak or 2? Or can I use the stock rails? Thanks.
  2. Normally a lurker, but I have a question. I have been driving my GX on the beach. In order to do this, I need to deflate the tires tp about 15-18 PSI. The low tire pressure light routinely goes on and stays on until I re-inflate. Once I missed a tire, and it was nice to have the reminder. So normally, no problem. However, yesterday, after inflating back up to 35 PSI (~32 is recommended), the low air pressure lite did not go off. Now it is blinking. I rechecked all 4 tires and they read 34-35 PSI. What gives? Anyone have a similar problem? Can multilple deflation/inflation cycles cause this? Thanks.
  3. The plastic cover plate that you replace after the hitch is installed Thanks ← ←
  4. I got the hitch. How did you get the factory plastic plate off?
  5. I'm salivating. I can't wait to get mine on the beach!
  6. The truth is, they'd have to pry that money from my cold, dead hands. You signed a contract which is legally binding on both parties. If you overpaid them, try to get your money back. I would assume it would be quite difficult. Auto dealers build profit into every segment of the auto buying/leasing process. The minimum profit from the average Lexus sale is supposed to be ~$3K. So they made only $1600 from you. I feel bad for them.... not. They'll have plentyof time to recoup it on the service.
  7. Thanks. I figured the light might go on. What about racks for fishing poles. Anyone use the Aries off-road rack? I think I can tie something into that.
  8. I am a new owner of a GX 470! Wahoo!! What a car (truck?). Anyway, anyone with any experience on beach sand? I live in the Jersey Shore area and want to drive on the beach for fishing. Yes, I know it's a Lexus and not a 4Runner, but it is a great off-road vehicle. I know about airing down, but am interested in what other people's experiences have been. Any mods for rod racks? I think I am going to get a rear rack for the hitch receiver.
  9. I have ~150 miles. Mine comes with complementary 1K & 5K services, including oil change. Check with your dealer. I thought this was standard.
