  1. Why didn't someone mention this years ago!! All the wasted time....
  2. Anyone have a 5 speed and have any problems with their slave cylinder? I had a small squeak coming from underneath my IS at idle, in neutral, with the clutch disengaged. Took it to the dealer yesterday and they said it was my slave cylinder. It was mechanically sound but had a squeak. Said they would replace under warranty. I'm just wondering what a slave cylinder is what it does and what could cause (driving wise) it to go bad?
  3. I would agree with you. I think the paint and clear coat looks great, but chips too easily. Not only that, I have the graphite coated (or whatever you call them) wheels and the graphite is chipping really bad too. As far as the scratches go in the clear; I haven't had this problem at all, but always wash by hand. I would NEVER consider using the brush at the car wash. You never know what the person washed with it before you!!
  4. You can try the dealer and should be able to find a used IS300 for under 30,000. I wouldn't think you will find a new one one for under 30,000. At least not the one you want. Try ebay. I purchased my 02' IS for 27,300 and it only had 10,000 miles. It has every possible option that i know of including navigation. Just make sure to do your research before you bid. Whatever you do not settle on one. Get the one that you want... and have fun doing it!
  5. I have a 02' IS300 with navigation, manual transmission and limited slip differential. I bought the car with 10,000 miles and it has always had this noise. After I start the car and go in either reverse of forward, for about 10 feet I get a small "clunk" from underneath the car. I can't really tell whether it is coming from the front or rear. This noise only happens one time after the car is started. I can stop, turn the car off, re-start the car and go another 10 feet and is does it again. Like I said, it only happens one time after the car is started. The dealership (Northside Lexus in Houston) told me (and this could not be correct) that maybe it's the fact the oil in the differential has settled after the car is stopped?? At first he said, "oh its the brakes", but after he heard the noise it was obvious to him and me that it was not the brakes. They checked the car and said that everything was okay, but it bothers me. Anybody else have this noise or know what it could be? Thanks
