  1. Has anyone installed a Garmin iQue in their third generation ES300 (1997-2001)? Installation tips, where to buy parts or photos appreciated.
  2. Wondering if anyone has tried the McCulloch HID 9006 kit in an ES300? I will have a 5300K kit available for install in my ES300 and am wondering how it works with the ES projector lenses. Currently I have the kit in an Acura that has OEM reflector lenses, color and brightness are great, but the beam pattern is so-so and the cut-off is poor.
  3. Thanks for the info on the ignition wires - our ES has 163K on it. Unfortunately I don't have access to a heated garage, so the local toyota dealer will have to do the replacement. Good news is that they're about half the cost of the local Lexus dealer, and they're willing to work on a '92 Lexus. I'll have them take a look at the cap, rotor and PCV valve. New plugs were installed at 150K. Thanks -
  4. Hello - my 1992 ES300 has electricity arcing between the ignition wires. It was running poorly and I popped the hood to take a look and saw and heard small sparking arcs of electricity between the ignition wires. Should I leave diagnosis and repair up to my Toyota dealer (who has worked on this car in the past), or try replacing the ignition wires myself? thanks ! oh, also it's like 50below outside, so if this is not a simple replacement, I will need to go to the dealer.
  5. Hey - thanks for the insight on GS300/400 winter driving experiences. We'll be checking out a GS and a 528i in the next week, it sounds like rwd can work with traction control and some decent snow tires. Most of our driving is in the city, and with decent plowing there have been only a half dozen or so really bad snow driving days in recent years - so the rwd may be no big deal....
  6. Hello - looking into options for replacing my wife's faithful, but aging, '92 ES300. Considering a '99-'01 GS300 or BMW 530i. From what I have read, the GS wins on reliability, and the BMW gremlin list is a bit scary...but I am really wondering if either of these RWD cars are a good choice for Minnesota winters, even with snow tires. any input appreciated - thanks
